He sees her as she comes from the den and once again he is taken by the beauty she holds, his youthful form shuffling a little in the eagerness that she did not seem angry at him; truly, she seemed quite the opposite. "I never expected you to bring me anything, I know your duties keep you busy." She confesses and it hurts his heart to think that she thought so little of them both that she would be less important than border-patrol. "I promise you, my duties are more for you than any other creature in this pack, Sekera." The weight in his voice allows for little refusal, at least for hesitation before refuting it. "But that does not change that I would have preferred to spend my time here rather than abroad."
His invitation comes and he can see that she takes great delight in his asking, in the prospect, though he can’t tell if it is merely her joy in the location or truly as he takes joy in her company being returned in kind. They are shoulder to shoulder when she accepts, his heart thrilling for the opportunity to teach her of her new home and spending time alone together. It is almost storybook, his loving her so instantly, so plainly, despite her age exceeding his. He finds the flavor of his affection to be a strange one for sure, but it is only her that consumes his thoughts at night, on patrol, on the hunt…
When they have made it a ways along the shore, he confesses quietly, "I have very much wished to come to you," he doesn’t specify in what way this is so, but there is a tightness in the muscles of his shoulders and the corners of his eyes, a shyness in that masculine way that says they think they betray nothing. "It is hard to have one’s mind on task when there are such meat things to chew on as visiting with you and spending an afternoon… together." He steps nearer on their walk, secretly encouraging a brush of their shoulders as he glimpses her nebulaic eyes out of the corner of his.
"I am jealous of the sea to have been able to be your companion better than myself lately.".
