He greets me and I do admit that something seems...different. Was something different? My blue eyes look him over for a second, not...seeing anything different. His fur seems typical. I don't immediately notice any new scars or something along those lines. What else could it be? The way he is standing? Why is this so confusing? I find my mind rolling through the possibilities, my head of silver and white tilting slightly as I consider it.
He looks as if he was about to say something when he suddenly...is not. His eyes direct to my ear, and I feel it immediately pull back. My face cringes in horror. He noticed! He noticed! I take a step back, my eyes growing wide as panic starts to take a hold of my heart. Why did he have to notice? My perfection was stained, and itchy, and he is just supposed to...not notice. I feel myself holding my breath. He will hate me. I am certainly ruined. I feel my ears falling back and a frown starting to force its way onto my muzzle. He seemed displeased. My head lowers slightly as he then speaks, him questioning who did this to me. I remained silent. He asked if I saw a healer. I was much too embarrassed and Meryl was far away in another pack. Infection? I don't even know what that is. Does it itch? Slowly I nod my head as I cast my head downward slightly.
"It...it was horrible. Some vile wolf rampaged her way to me and took a snap at it! I was just doing my regular sun bathing, and...and...and she was just suddenly there and did that...she was so ugly, black and dirt red," I say with a slightly panicked voice. I had never had to deal with something like that before, and I never want to deal with something like that again. I flicker my torn ear, feeling the itch but resisting the urge to scratch at it. A lady does not scratch in front of a man.
"Yeah, it itches. I...I didn't see a healer, I...couldn't let anyone see me," I say, blue orbs not daring to look him in the eye quite yet. I used to be stunning, a true beauty to be marveled. Now I have this ear, and a reminder of the evils in the world. I know what Grandfather Heyel spoke of now. I see why he suffered for his own ear- he wanted to see wolves like that wretched female be punished for their crimes. I sigh slightly thinking of him, but today I am going to go see my parents. I know daddy will go find her and beat her up.
Nord changes the subject and although I stand ashamed and tense, I am somewhat relieved to not dwell on my ear for too long. I did indeed ask where the hell he has been. My eyes flicker up again as he explains that he went back to the mountain. He found some sort of peace with these spirit things he speaks about, finding closure about his family and his pack. I may not really understand it, but at least he found some sort of peace I suppose. However, my head tilted slightly with the mention of vision quests and coming of age ceremonies...things that we do not have among Angels and Starchildren.
"Come," I say as I begin to walk past him towards Diveen. "I am going to see my parents in Diveen. You should explain these spirit things to me, and what this vision quest is, and how these spirit things...helped you, as I do not get it at all," I say bluntly- however with interest. "You will come with me, yes? I uh...don't really want to go alone," I ask as I turn my head to see if Nord was following me. I held a bit more confident, and expecting look that he would indeed at least escort me to Diveen.
