Fennel, purring cheerfully at Alethea's greeting, butted up against her while Torram glared daggers at his wayward familiar. She hated getting wet, so he knew her actions were only to irritate him. Of course, it was hard to be irritable for long, Alethea being there and all. Much as he had years ago - for him, at least - he felt a small blush sneaking up his throat and warming his ears. The blushing got worse when she hugged him, but he returned it happily. He could tell she was a bit surprised as she stepped back to study him, and he smiled a bit shyly. He'd changed a lot, hadn't he? And she hadn't changed at all. It was... comforting, but also more than a little strange.
"Yeah, this is a bit weird isn't it? It's really me, though," Tor said, his amusement and bafflement equally audible in his voice. "I guess time flows differently between my homeworld and Shaman. I left here about... five years ago, our time? And, uh, some other things changed too."
He bent down, plucking Fennel up. The calico started purring immediately, head-butting Torram's chin. "This is Fennel. She's... erm... the new Minerva?"
Fennel slid to perch on his shoulder, still purring, and teased his nose with her tail until he pushed it away. She didn't look very pleased at being called the "new Minerva", but was apparently in too good a mood to fuss about it.
Nice to meetcha! Fennel said casually, earning a poke from Torram.
"It's been a pretty crazy few years for me, but..." he lifted his gaze to the bubble protecting the castle, then lowered it back to raise a brow at her. "Not quite Shaman-level crazy. What the heck happened, anyways? Seems like I missed a lot in six months Shaman-time."
He startled then, as if he'd remembered something suddenly. "Hey, speaking of which, have you seen Birch around? I figured she'd be working at the Castle still but I didn't see her when I passed by earlier. Do you know where her'n'Olive are staying?"
[ooc] Birch & Olive got pulled through to Knell like seconds before the flood hit, so as far as anyone in Shaman knows they both have passed away. Totally fine if Thea hasn't heard this yet though! ;D [/ooc]
