Aster
After having left the plains of Ruieze I made my way back to the familiar plains of Asteraia, frowning at how little the landscape changes as I move. Soon, I tell myself, soon I would visit Pine in Iromar. Spend a day. Walk the old paths in the moors and smell the heady scent of fall vegetation rotting in the swamps. I wouldn't go near the area where I had found Aithne's body. I couldn't lest I dream of dark emerald eyes and red rings around sightless pupils. I missed her with such fervency that it sometimes felt like I could turn around and be sure that she was there and that father would be by soon as well. That they couldn't REALLY be gone.
But life didn't agree to my delusions and I was left with nothing but empty land and wind.
Shaking away such dour thoughts I focus instead on the new idea forming in my mind, a tornado that wipes out all other thought. My eyes slip across the plains and skip across a few wolven bodies that lay sprawled out in the cool fall air. Who would be up for the task I wanted completed? I was sure someone would want to do it if only to impress me - and I would reward them with... something. I suppose that was something I would need to discuss with Halcyon, but my mate was rather lenient with my ideas.
I walk sedately with my head down across meadows and up a small, rolling knoll, one of many in this vast landscape. For a moment I picture myself in tandem with my mother's powerful strides, the way she moved gracelessly but with power and strength. My stride isn't like hers - mine is more youthful and buoyant but there is still purpose there. Purpose that would be groomed in time. I had traveled much in my years and had suffered for my distance, but I also had begun to learn clarity and responsibility.
Upon the top of the knoll I pause and throw back my head to howl, a challenge to any who are willing to answer the open call of their Queen. Then I lift my head up, ears cast back and eyes shining brightly with a look of extreme smugness and confidence. What can I say? An Empress gets her way.
----- OOC: She will be giving a random, mystery (well maybe not a mystery!) task out to whoever wishes it but it does require travel -----
...and lay waste to the earth.
