He couldn’t say he wasn’t proud. After all there he was grinning like a fool, icky moss and web still plastered on his throat and what not, but come on, he stole her like this. She was pretty too! Much better looking than his brothers’ mates, and certainly more mature than both of them to boot. Ankh was a bitch and Aster was a child. He smirked at the thought of his brother being basically a den robber, the girl was still technically a pup and he made her his mate. Man he never thought of it that way before… that’s gross man, couldn’t least wait until she was four to say something, didn’t he need like parent permission or something? Oh wait… her parents were dead… oops. Well whatever, he helped kill her parents’ killer, so she should be even more indebted to him. He liked the sound of that… both his brothers’ mates indebted to him, maybe he should collect via some favors of some sort. Though not Aster eww… not until she was at least four, Halcyon might be a den robber, but a man had to have his standards even if she was pretty much in all ways but age an adult now still.
Something perhaps to throw in his siblings’ faces later! Right now it seemed someone was thinking about some winter shenanigans too. Mugen truly was any decent woman’s worst nightmare, but he could see it that glint in her eye as he walked up all smug and grinning like he knew he had some sort of dastardly charm that just made the ladies swoon. Completely wrong of him to believe such things, females like Ankh probably had the right idea about him, but he wasn’t about to tell a willing lady ‘no’ if she met his ‘standards’ of at least not being a complete cow like Ankh was. And yes he had standards.
He couldn’t help but quirk a brow at her reply to his welcome. Slowly she paced forward and he felt his whole body tense up in the most good of ways. He met her gaze with his own his grin widening at her words as she teased him in such a manner. ”Now look lady I wouldn’t be much a gentleman if I didn’t least get you to a safe place first, get you a little dinner? Maybe tell you a tale of how I got these scars or came to be the dashing man that stands before you. I mean you don’t just take a lady back to your den without getting to know her first.” He waggled his brows a bit, being completely serious though it wasn’t like he wasn’t interested in her words. He was… quite interested in fact it was just, well, he didn’t just want that. He liked companionship but he liked companionship with ladies that weren’t well… Awful. Thus far she was seemingly far from.
”Well you don’t have to yet if you don’t want, you can wait until we share a den, certainly doesn’t matter when you waggle that pretty little tail in front of the Queen’s face.” If his grin could grow it would have, but he did lower her voice moving his muzzle towards her ear since she was so close to him already. He couldn’t say he was very intrigued with getting to know her for a night, two nights, however long she wanted so long as she remained so pleasant. ”I mean, before… after. Not like she’s having any fun this winter.” He said softly, though his raspy voice from his damaged neck already made it sort of quiet on its own. ”After all I brought you here to have a little fun and keep nice and warm for the winter. Whose den you stay in for a couple of those nights well… that’s all up to you.” He wasn’t opposed to having a good time, long as it stayed good. Even a cold hearted bastard like him liked to cuddle now and then.
