Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

Return to Lunar Children
KEEP CAREFUL WATCH OF MY BROTHERS’ SOULS;
IP: 100.11.132.169

Even separated by several hundred pounds of flesh, they seem cohesive. Together they collide with the bear, together they latch onto it and pull backwards to try and anchor him, together they feel the bloodlust of their fathers stir in their veins. It comes from hunting together from the moment they could take on even the smallest mice in their communal dens.

They do not know that Dexter is fine, but it cannot be their concern, each so very close to giant paws themselves. They do not know that Tuari has launched herself and that is why the bear roars again. As they hit in sync with one another, not even a heartbeat between their teeth finding their marks, the rest of the pack seems to swarm the bear along with them. Lex did not manage to hold his mark with the sudden movement of his target, but he is able to feel the soaring of a victorious spirit as he tastes blood all the same. Herschel has much the same struggle as the bear shifts, making the high bite to the bears hind haunch pale in comparison to the second cousins of red and gold.

Vladimir is a savage and shaking bite dug in deep to the bears other hind leg just above the hock, teeth so close to tendons that the red brother makes the decision to mangle whatever he had a hold of with clenched teeth. A small snack, perhaps, and a useless leg maybe to be his reward. Constantine, leaping as he had, landed high on the opposite shoulder of his leader and instantly he deadens his weight, using his strong neck to writhe and flail his hold until the skin and meat gave under the piercing of teeth and heavy weight.

When it was clear that the bear intended to rise up, Alexander dodged in time, the flailing paw grazing the front of his chest just over his heart before the beast was too tall to reach for him any longer. Constantine held on still, ever determined that he should remove his own metaphorical pound of flesh until his eyes spotted the glorious ascension of the huntmaster of Taviora and he dropped whatever flesh still remained attached to the bear with a sudden use of his back legs to push off the bear.

The bear teeters back, whether because Vladimir had done his job or because the bear had other intentions, the brothers could not know. The brothers knew this was no place to be, however. They knew this so well because Neirin and Ifrit, the first born to Solevion and Trenus, two of their predecessors, had died in the toppling of a bear not much smaller than this black furred beast.

Vladimir watched the descent of the bear and the intended harm meant for him and was not so foolish has his father as to take the bait of a challenge. Instead when the bear might have made good on the promise of those long claws, he pivoted out of range of both body and paw.

Alexander, Constantine, and Vladimir out of the way, the only one left straggling was the smallest of their crew-- and the bear makes him stumble.

Herschel? The most agile of them all stumbled? His eyes are delirious, as if lost in the chorus of his stars -- only less peaceful and instead excrutiating in pain. He yelps as the buffet of 700 some-odd pounds sends him reeling just past the paws meant for Vladimir with the exception of claws raking down his rump and tail before he lands on his side, wide pink eyes looking more and more terrified before his brothers shout his name and he howls an anguished cry over the attack of his imprint.

He whirls, adrenaline pushing him past his red brother at arms and into the forest.

The remaining three instantly know what to do. Cover their small brother’s retreat. They knew the name in his howl, that Sidriel was somehow the cause of this terror and devastation. The cousins understood that he could not be kept, and yet it was Alexander that made the move to save Herschel first.

As their brother howled, as he forgot his enemy was near, Alexander had charged in to face the bear with its flailing claws as the yellow and red brothers had taken a surprised moment to watch their tan brother fly to the aid of his imprint.

Alexander in the line of fire, there was no doubt going to be danger and as Alexander let out a fierce snarl and attacked whatever limb came at him first, there was a breath of time that might have allowed the bear to do some harm before Constantine and Vladimir lunged to bite at the dangerous maw and paws remaining at the bears front.

// compile wounds
Alexander - small graze of claws over left breast and foreshoulder
Vladimir - uninjured as yet
Constantine - uninjured as yet
Herschel - cut from claws over topline from mid haunches to mid tail

//compile attacks
Alexander - to the paw that hit Herschel
Vladimir - to the muzzle of the fallen bear
Constantine - to the other forepaw that didn’t hit Herschel
Herschel - /end participation

//additional information
Alexander - positioned and attacked in such a way that will likely get him hit, though he will release if the danger level of his attack supersedes the benefit of having made a hit.

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
