Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

As of late my brother had been occupied elsewhere. I had frequently caught a whiff of a feminine scent about him when he would return, a glazed look in his eye, and inwardly I grinned. My tail wagged even now at the thought that soon my brother might bring home a bride, a sister for me to nurse as much as I nursed my younger ones. I missed them horribly and more than once this winter had trudged to the border of Glorall as if my legs would take me where my heart wanted - towards the thousand beating hearts that called me. My sisters and brothers were scattered like leaves on the wind, sprouting new and budding lives. Ever since I had learned that my sister had given birth to nephews and a niece I've been hankering to visit but my duties kept me settled.

More than that, this winter I felt different.

It was the way my body twinged and the way I whined in the cold of the night. I burned with a fever but it was unlike a normal one - nothing could satisfy it or the way I traipsed through the snow at all hours of the day and night until a small path stayed permanently open from the flurries. I was obsessive over Ehiyeh and her pups but discreet as well, hiding away so they never saw me spying on them, but I longed for... something. A connection that suddenly my brother couldn't fulfill.

Either way I found myself this day lost in a haze of feverish thoughts while I pace around my den. There is nothing to occupy my time. My herbs are stocked and it is winter so finding anything else was futile. My lean belly requires little sustenance but my mind needed interaction. Socialization! I was almost on the edge of darting away to find Thor when I feel it. The pull of my bond growing stronger. My ears prick - minus my floppy one - and my bright eyes snap in the direction I can sense him coming from. "Israfel?" My sweet voice is soft and gone with the breeze as I cock my head to the side and wait.

I can feel him growing nearer with each step until finally I hear his voice. I whoosh out a deep breath and then suddenly break into the most stunning, wide smile as I bound through the snow and break through some shrub that hid him from my view. "Israfel!" My voice is exultant and ecstatic but I contain it as I come to an abrupt halt, tail wagging, my lovely face scrunching into one of questioning. "What are you doing here, Israfel?" I glance down at his wet paws and widen my eyes. "You will catch a cold wading in the river this time of the year! Come with me, I've got something to help prevent it!"

I spin suddenly and dart back to my den, racing in and pawing through my piles until I grab a leafy plant that crackles beneath my touch. I am careful as I bring it back out and set it on the snow, a zip of electricity running through me as I see him again. He is so.... dreamy. The light makes his silver fur glimmer and I have this urge to touch it. I feel my cheeks heat up as I peel up at him. "Eat this please. I don't want you getting sick." Then again... if he did, I could have a reason to ask him to stay.
