The other male was just odd. Why was he so nervous and awkward? One would think he'd never been around others of his own age before or something. But there was some kind of wisdom about him too, like he knew things, maybe even things Fen himself didn't know. Maybe he would interview him sometime but not today. Today was about fun! When he asked the boy for his name, he replied Noctis and Fen nodded, memorizing it immediately. He would never forget this Noctis. His mind was a steel trap! Noctis seemed confused when he asked what he had rolled in. He asked what he meant and Fen shrugged. "I don't know. You just smell like..." He took another few sniffs, leaning in before he pulled back, his nose still wrinkled. "Red clay or something. Like muddy red clay. Where are you from?" He was curious by nature. He just had to know. He watched as Noctis went to step forward but then stopped. He tilted his head at him. Didn't he know that you can't splash too much unless you're in the water? But luckily teh girl came to distract them both. Fen didn't want to warn Noctis about her in case he got a good show out of it but she managed to stop in time and it was almost disappointing. He still jumped though and turned to her with confusion on his face. Fen chuckled under his breath. Scaredy cat. There was a look of yearning in Noctis' eyes like he really wanted to let loose and play with them so what was holding him back? Fen wanted to find out. The girl was all for it at least, running into the water with a big splash. Fen threw in his encouragement before doing the same and he was rewarded with Noctis finally running into the water as well. But suddenly the other boy tripped over his own feet and went face first into the water. Fen couldn't help it. He started laughing, really loudly. It was so funny! Then he came up floundering and acting like he was drowning. That made it even funnier! He swam a little closer to Noctis. "No, no, you look like a drowning opossum. Move your legs like this." He tried to show him how to paddle the right way. He could be nice sometimes, see? The girl was eager to get into the water, it would seem. She couldn't get enough of splashing around. She seemed to be quite good at this but luckily Fen had been practicing in the marshes in the fields next to Asteraia so he wasn't completely hopeless. He jumped after the girl and she laughed at him. He grinned back at her, turning on his charm as he tried to launch himself on top of her like he did to Xerxes and Tikal. She started scrambling immdiately unerneath him but it wasn't aimless squirming. She acted like she knew what she was doing. When she came back up, he went to laughing but stopped when water suddenly hit him right in the face. He choked on some of it and looked at her with wide shocked eyes. She just spit on him! She said that she got him and he blinked at her for a minute before he burst out laughing again. "You sure did. I'll get you back though! What's your name anyway? I'm Fen!" It was only right that he knew her name if she was going to spit water on him, right? But her attention wavered and suddenly she was swimming toward Noctis, offering him help. Fen rolled his eyes. But then she surprised him by splashing Noctis before darting back into the water. Now this, he could get in on! He laughed and swam closer to watch. "Come on, Noctis. You gonna take that lying down?" He encouraged the play, wanting to see what happened next.
