Her happiness was contagious and he was only too happy to feed on it and enjoy this moment and this day with her. He didn't want to spend it with anyone else. She was his moon and stars and his sun. She was his world. Fate, schmate, he could have Talien in his life as an anchor and yet still make his own choices. He knew that he had chosen Inanna as his mate even as pups when they romped and played together in the sand. He had returned for her and her alone and nothing, no one, would take that from him. He had gathered all this to show her that he was a provider, that he could care for her and a family if she wanted that any time in the future. He wondered if Samia would be happy for him and knew that she would be. She only wanted his happiness, after all. But gods, if she ever brought a male to him for his approval, NO ONE would be good enough for his sister and Hircine have mercy on their soul for thinking they could be. She was teasing with him with such a question as his intentions but he didn't plan on disappointing her with his answer either. He had a new policy of being straightforward about what he wanted and that's what he was going to stick with. He wanted her and he would rightly tell her so. Rufus could go find his own girl somewhere else. He had been saving this pearl for a while. It was larger than the others he'd found and there was a shimmer to it that told of something ancient and yet long lasting. He knew that it only belonged with her. He wanted to be beside her for everything, every disappointment, every uplifting moment. He wanted it all but only with her. Her words made his chest tighten and his breath catch, ears straining forward to hear her every word. She was his. She had always been his. It was nice to hear it. It was more than nice. He thought of the feather that even now lay nestled safely in his fur and he smiled. Then she nipped at his cheek and licked his nose and he chuckled. And there it was, the answer he'd been waiting for. His brows rose and his tail wagged a million miles a minute. "You mean it?" He asked like a child, watching her gaze at the pearl at her paws like it was the most beautiful thing in the world. He was glad he could find something for her that she treasured. She was a collector, after all. Then before she could react, he pounced toward her, rolling and wrestling with playful yips before placing licks and kisses over every inch of her. His eyes were alight with a whole new fire upon knowing that she was truly his. He couldn't ask for anything more.
