Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

heros may die...but legends endure

Zelda could tell the wolfess was uncomfortable, maybe even struggling a little with the extra weight of her unborn children. Really the auburn wolfess wanted to see her to a safer location, after all not long ago her borders had been attacked by a black bear and it was just lucky that same day she had sent a party to dispatch one of the great night beasts. The wolfess seems relieved though, but Zelda didn’t yet have her name, though honestly, such a thing was far from Zelda’s own mind as she worried for her health. She had no idea long ago Phaedra had wandered about the lands, but her violet eyes were very familiar to the Guardian. They were a color unforgettable and unique to a certain line of wolves that she knew all too well. Hyrule had the same violet in his eyes, though their gold perhaps was different, but she could never forget the color of her lost heart’s gaze and how many times she had locked with them.

She quickly dismissed any apologies, they were unnecessary and honestly Zelda just wanted to see her to a better place to speak but as large as the wolfess was she was not going to be able to do much more than make sure no threats were coming upon them. She is polite though, and grateful and quickly confirmed Zelda’s earlier suspicions. Shiloh was her sister, so the female was of the angels and that was enough for Zelda to know she truly wanted to make sure this female was safe from any harm. She was taking Taviora into consideration for her home too and Zelda certainly had no objections to that.

However time for banter was quickly lost when the wolfess winced and continued to say that her pups were coming. She wasn’t the only one surprised, Zelda’s heart started beating quickly in her chest, but she was a healer. She had no supplies on her of course but she was here and now she was apparently going to attend tush a thing. ”It will be okay.” Zelda assured the female, though she was still anxious for her to be giving birth somewhere so open, and birthings could generally attract things. ”I am going to call for the patrol to come closer into us. Predators lurk these forests and it would be good to makes sure they do not come to near. She calls then to the four wolves that made up her empathy, they didn’t need to come so close as to ruin the wolfess’ privacy but close enough should another creature attack they could deter it. She had the utmost faith in Alexander and his brothers, but the call went to any free wolves who could help.

”Rarely to children seem to respect the time of their parents.” Zelda jests lightly, quickly pulling leaf litter and sticks away and clearing the area around the wolfess as she settles herself next to the tree. This was nerve wracking, but Phaedra had found a good wolf to make sure she was attended too properly. A healer and a leader, most were warriors, and well Zelda was still working on that part, but she could never imagine her grandfather or uncle doing this so… calmly. Once the area was cleared she sat attentive to their surroundings as well as to Phaeda’s health, she seemed to be one of the lucky ones. Soon two healthy wriggling girls were at her stomach and the wolfess still seemed strong and aware. There wasn’t too much blood, but her children both looked beautiful.

The wolfess then speaks she seems very pleased and the auburn girl couldn’t blame her. ”Of course you’re whole family may call this land home and will be happy to have you.” The Guardian wolfess says, noting the name she had given of her, what Zelda assumed, mate Nogitsune. ”I do wish to know though, what is your name? Such introductions were so quickly lost with this most joyous occasion, though I want to know the name of the friend I have made today.”

It was soon after Zelda spoke again that the wolfess’ ‘shadow’ had seemed to appear. In older times there was a stigma surrounding a wolf who looked such as he. Demons were now mostly lost to Moladion, Zelda in fact didn’t recognize the black, russet and grey wolf for what he was. She quickly moved out of his way as he abandoned his catches he had made for his partner and Zelda only could smile at the pair of them. She didn’t want to wander far or intrude so she sat off to the side allowing them their tender moment with their family together when the male spoke to her. ”Think nothing of it, I would like to think it is what any good wolf would do.” She said smiling at him, ”I was telling your mate that you are all welcome to stay here. Once she is feeling better I would be more than happy to get you all to a den in a little more secure location within the pack. Close to Shiloh if you would like, your mate was saying she is her sister and your friend, I am sure she would be overjoyed to have you a den neighbors.”

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
