Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

Cenmatl

He could feel it even though he didn’t look at Pine to see her reactions. His attention, like Pine’s had been set upon his cousin, garish eyes not leaving the auburn fem while she sniffed the branch and then clearly knew the scent. At first his heart and stomach felt like they had become vast and cold. Dropping from their respective areas until Zelda further explained herself… She was a prisoner here. That made a lot more since, and especially seemed to explain why she might have tried to frame them. Though Cenmatl wasn’t sure if that was a goal of the woman’s who had killed Eleanor. She still had the scent, if she had been here as long as her cousin said she had it might have just been more stealthy of her to wash the scent. After all she left all this trail behind her. It didn’t make since if she was trying to frame someone or if she was truely a skilled assassin. She would want to be a loner, or disguise herself as another land that had no association with her. So why was she so… well, careless?

Cenmatl wasn’t as hot headed as his Mate and Imprint was. He was calmer much more pensive, absorbing everything trying to figure out the why before letting emotions take over. Perhaps part of it was simply that he wasn’t as close to the wolves of Iromar as Pine was. She grew up around them, was invested in them far more than he was. Terrible as it sounded right now it was proving helpful. He was certain if it dealt with wolves he was closer too he would have been upset, but then again, he had been just as calculating with Moteuh. He wasn’t sure what made him this way. He had always had a more calm approach about death than most it seemed, though he had things like forgetting everything he knew on his mind a lot. For now, all he could do was focus on Zelda, he could see her shrinking down, blaming herself, her uncertainty in her decisions leading up to this.

Pine though he could feel was boiling over. Her tones filled with venom as she repeated the name of the guilty party or parties involved. It was true… a wolf of Diveen as of late had been causing them some issues to say the least, but for what reason he couldn’t say. They really needed to go to them before things got out of hand, but something told Cenmatl that this was that point. Maybe he should go himself, Pine might say something she might regret but Cenna thought maybe he could at least glean answers… Later. Soon as he was done here, he would hurry to Diveen without telling Pine. He was alpha after all, he had to do his part and if it meant getting some answers well he would do just that. Maybe it wasn’t too late, maybe he could fix this before it went too far. Perhaps Diveen’s leader, much like Zelda, had no idea such things were transpiring.

”Don’t be sorry. There was no way you could have know this would have happened.” He said reassuringly, though his reassurance he was certain fell on deaf ears. Zelda was strong, but not, she was a mixed bag of giving what she could to everyone around her and stripping pieces of herself onto others. He knew she was working hard, and every time a trial seemed to pass another one would come to her door step. Maybe, just maybe he could have her come along with him.

She asked what they would do with her and it seemed finally Pine couldn’t contain herself anymore. She snapped into the air exclaiming that she was going to get down to the bottom of this. ”Pine, I know you think that this is happening on purpose. But it’s… too convenient.” He said softly too her, ”If you look at this objectively there was no reason for her to try to frame the only wolves who likely knew who she was. Why would she want to be found? There was something more… Diveen, the missing piece of the puzzle. How did they fit in, and to what end did manipulating Arace fit into this. He had to go talk to Orion. There was no choice.

More reasons to not want to involve Taviora came to Zelda’s lips. The reason she couldn’t truely do anything to Arace. Understanding hit him like a moose kick. Imprints. He couldn’t imagine what he would do to protect Pine if she had ever done something like this. His bond to her was stronger than anything he could have ever imagined for himself. He knew if he wanted he could follow his bond and forever it would lead him straight to her. He learned that bonds had differing ‘strengths’ he guessed he would call it, but again this seemed a poorly thought out assassination plot if Arace didn’t want to be caught.

”We will need to find her first before any of that. Do you think her imprint would help us? Or hinder us? I can only imagine how he will feel once he finds out.” Cenna’s bright pupiless eyes moved to Pine. ”I greatly empathize for him, but if his bond is anything like what I feel for Pine then he would be invaluable in helping both our packs reign her back in.” He said his tail flicking lightly gaze wandering back to Zelda, he would think of some way to make this right. Coza had instilled being peaceful to both of them. A fair trial he was certain would only mean death for the female. Life was precious regardless of the wolf, he heard the Stories of how Coza fought on numerous occasions one of the oldest and most well known cannibals, Tobias. Coza never wanted to kill him despite how many lives he took. Death only brought more death, the chain had to end somewhere… That was what his grandfather had always preached, but he knew how Pine probably preferred to handle things. He fell silent going back more into himself thinking of what he could do.

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
