There had been a feeling of discomfort slowly but surely growing in the pit of her stomach. She could not figure out why she was feeling this way, or where the feelings were coming from. Not his mate, and not privy to his den or well-being, it had taken Solstice a little while to realize Halcyon was scarce around Asteraia. His scents started to fade from the borders and creatures of the night started to press their luck once more. Solstice’s paws froze in idle meandering and she realized what was wrong and where her feelings were coming from. A soft, useless whine came from her as she changed her course towards her Imprint’s den.
Halcyon’s announcement calmed her briefly, but still she wanted to check on the couple as best she could. Determined, she picked up the pace but stopped again when a different howl sounded through the air. Her ears twitched uncertainly, but once more the switched her course. It did not take long before she found the Alphess. Solstice was not surprised, but her breath caught at the beauty of the queen she had never met. Halcyon had fallen in love well.
The Weaver came forward, her body low and submissive. Queen Aster. she greeted warmly from the ground, her stomach and sides exposed in deference to Aster’s rank. Her genuine fealty given, she turned back to a more comfortable sitting position, though keeping her (slightly larger) body small. I am so happy to finally meet you! There was a kind but haunting glimmer in her two-tones eyes. Her friendly smile fell, contrasting to her happiness. But I wish it could have been for different reasons. Is there anything I could do to help you. Or to help him? Her tone and posture were genuine and it was clear she was simply concerned for the wolves to whom she spoke. She knew she was not capable of much, but she would do what she could.
