Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

Do Whatever The Hell You Want & Unpredictable as Possible!

I hadn’t seen her for some time. I know the death of her mother and the vanishing of her younger siblings probably wasn’t easy. She hadn’t been close to her younger siblings, or her father really, that I understood at least, but I think her mother was the one in her family she had been close too. I felt for her I really did, but it seemed she wanted her space not a shoulder to cry on when it happened. I wouldn’t have wanted that either. Boys weren’t supposed to cry anyway, though I certainly had, just no one really had to see it. I didn’t want the world to know how much it hurt and how angry I was knowing that there was a murderer out there. I was going to track the killer down myself if I had too.

I knew there was still that ‘Heyel Ghost’ to deal with too, but I didn’t really know what to do about that one… That could had been anyone, anyone in our family to make it worse. Hyrule and I took so much after our grandfather it wouldn’t surprise me if maybe somewhere, there was another grandchild or even great grandchild that took the features of him and were running out there. At this point I had all but given up seeing where my family was. It had spread like wildfire after all, who knew what was crossed in or out of or family anymore. I knew Tobias was even the father of a few cousins of mine… for all I knew this Heyel Ghost could have been one of those spawn.

It wasn’t easy though. Losing family no matter how close or not you were. There was some type of thing that just shook you to the core once you found out. Sure it was harder when you were close, but there was some reality too that suddenly just hit you. The girl though was pretty perceptive. I look at her on her rock gazing at the sky, when she notices me she sits up and frowns. Gone is the child that was annoying me, very quickly she was becoming calloused from life. I couldn’t do anything to protect her from that, especially if she wanted to be a killer. It was probably, sadly, better this way that she was detaching as she was. That didn’t mean she shouldn’t still be my apprentice, forever she would be such a thing, after all that time together in Iromar it was hard not to have some type of bond with the girl.

Her words were blunt, and I could hear the almost guarded bitterness to them. ”I have a duty to my family, and my brother. An assassin’s job is never over, you did not pick an easy path when you followed me. I tried to warn you.” I say with a roll of my shoulders, and a hapless grin but I wasn’t about to just be shoved out the door, half smile or not, or long good-byes whatever. I start making my way towards her, jumping on her, rather nice I must admit, spot and even shoving her over slightly with my hip to make room.

”Yeah, visit or something. Zelda said the same, she’s too soft for her own good so you keep an eye on her for me, for my brother.” I look up to the sky, wondering how Hyrule’s ventures were going out there, wondering also if Jaeger was watching now, if he would approve of how brutally I would kill his killer the moment I found her. I have some class, but I am not Zelda, his killer deserved no mercy from me which was why I knew I had to leave. ”Your job won’t be easy here, but you can always come to Diveen too if you need my help.” I say grinning at the sky for a moment looking perhaps a bit like a mad man smiling at all this grimness. ”Life sucks, but you know I like it. It's unpredictable, I would like to be more like life.”

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
