Growing up in a different home than where I was born, made it to where I learned how to hold my own, and not be afraid when I was approached by another. I figured it was because mom was so shy and hesitant around everyone that I had to stand up for her. Being the child of a mute mother was not easy by any means, and I know that she did the best she could, and with dad by her side, they did the best together. Dad knew all her little signs, and I had learned them as I grew. Thus leading me to be more outspoken with my body language than my actual words.

I watched him as I spoke, my gaze unflinching. When he spoke, his timber voice rumbled as I stood watching him. A slight chuckle slipped from my lips, not in a sarcastic manner, just a light laugh, not one to be taken wrong. “Ahh, Whilst I come from the Inlet, I fear I'm not as well versed on the land as many are. I spent my first six months, maybe more here. Before Daddy moved us to another home away from here. I'm sure much as changed since I left.” Sweet words, a light sound. I'd gotten used to trying to use the sweet words to get my way with daddy. Mom was another deal, she saw right through my games, even when daddy didn't. A smile graced my features as I thought of them. Oh how I missed them.

In a way, I missed the snow-crisp air. The smell that the air got just before its first snowfall was delightful to say the least. Part of me wanted to go back there, just to get that familiar rush to my system. But I wasn't sure what was going to happen here, so I wasn't about to make assumptions.

He spoke then, asking about my history. “Well, I've said part, but here lets go from the beginning. I'm the second child of Braylen and Isobel. My mother was born mute, so I learned from a young age. My father kept us in the Inlet for a while, but then we moved to another land completely. I came back because I missed this, everything. I felt like a part of my life was missing. I guess I'm here to find it. As for me being alone out here tonight, I'm a night owl, you could say. I prefer to look up to the night sky than to see the sun most days.” When speaking of my family, my eyes glazed a bit, a longing showing deep within them.

I couldn't wait to see them again, I just hoped they'd come back here, come home, and that I wouldn't have to go find them again.
