Malignant Felicity is a paradisaical abode to the faithful remains of a mighty pack. Once ruled by the magnificent wolf Genocide, now the wolves of this pack follow the laws of the Alpha Lance, son of Sorna, Beta and Genocide's best friend...

The sounds of crashing water fill your auds as you enter this tropical paradise. The tall trunks tower above you. The treetop canopy's seem to shade the beautiful land from the sun's rays. What a paradise this place seems. This place dubbed Malignant Felicity. As you draw closer to the boarders a stench slowly devours the air around you. The stench of death.

"Beware..." scream the birds from above you. "She kills for games. She kills for fun." Something deep inside tells you to listen. Your body tells you not to go no further. Do you listen or do you dare move into the pack borders. This could be a life or death decision...

Follow the Queen, or become a corpse that lines her border. The choice lies with you.

There is such hope in her eyes as he turns back to her and bade for her to wait. She thinks only well of him, cares for him, and accepts all of him. And yet she cannot know what it is he is doing in order to be free to be with her. And he will not tell her - she would say there must be some other way, or would point out the good things, but all Akuji knows is that he just agreed to such a dangerous and horrifying contract in order to selfishly be able to stay near to her. Akuji could have saved Katia and many others if he had simply walked away from her - she would be safe from the council in Malignant Felicity - there were no other kalaks within the packlands, no spies for the Council to utilize. But instead he put the rest of the world in danger's way in order to follow his heart. It nearly broke that very heart. It would be odd for most who knew Akuji to think he would care - that he would have had to think about deal thoroughly before accepting it. That he would be affected at all by Perdere's murderous sprees... but as Katia knew, the hard exterior painted upon his flesh - the rage, the sarcasm - was his armor. Beneath the surface, aside from the beast that was Perdere, was a heart that sympathized with Perdere's victims because Akuji had been his father's victim. True, he saw any not of the kalak blood as inferior, but he had no pleasure in watching torture and foul deeds. And so this deal of his would break him, but it would have to be worth it, because at least now Katia would be there to hold him together, to hold his heart and his sanity together. Perhaps finally his armor would fall away and he would be just Akuji, whoever that was. It had been so long since he had been able to do just... since he was a pup in fact.

But it was with trepidation now that he searched for words to say. This would be different than any relationship he had had before, but hell it was different from any previous relationship. With Odessa... oh dear Fenris that had been Katia's aunt had it not?... with Odessa, Perdere had played no role at all, and instead their relationship had been fucked up for more normal reasons - she had left him. But he had never been separated at that point from Perdere, not like he would be now. Perdere had promised compliance, had promised a compromise... and on the otherhand there had been Georgie. Akuji had held no love for her - she had been a means to an end in which she had provided a distraction from his grieving heart that ached still for Odessa. She had provided him with pups, something that he had not desired at the time... but he had gotten Shasta out of the deal an he loved his favorite daughter dearly.

But just exactly who was Akuji without his asshole exterior? How would he function, how would he know hard from soft, right from wrong? He was terrified of her - he knew that now. Terrified of her and terrified for her. How many times would he fail before he stumbled upon how to do something right in the relationship. And she... she could crush him. Her delicate dainty paws, her soft plume... any piece of her could tear him apart and leave him in a mess. Fuck, he was already a mess, she could leave him in something much worse. A depression? A fugue state? Something... but he... not Akuji... Perdere could destroy Katia. He could do things to horrify her, give her gifts of mutilated corpses. He could sleep with other femmes and bring back Akuji's tainted shell home to Katia. But if Katia would have him... if she could accept him despite all of these faults... how could Akuji turn her away now that the contract was signed? Now that he had sold his soul to the devil?

"I...We... He...."

Akuji growled in frustration. He could not find the words that were right. How could he explain this change in his decision? "Perdere has... graciously agreed to..." A sigh fell from his lips as he heard Perdere cackling in his mind as Akuji stumbled on. "He promises not to attack you. Not to cause you any physical harm." But that said nothing about emotional or mental harm, did it? "It is a... a way to make this work. There is a cost I must pay, a compromise, for nothing is free, especially when it comes to the Beast. He is to be released three days a week and have free rein of my body and do with it as... well... as he sees fit. The other four days a week he will remain silent and quiet in the background and try no more to escape. That is if you will still have me." Us. Will still have us. She will have to accept me as well. Akuji grimaced and looked away from Katia's gaze. "If you... if you still want us." Would Katia understand in full what that all meant, both for Akuji and for her? Likely not, not due to naivety or anything of that sort, but merely because Perdere's treachery ran deep and was a complex thing in and of itself.
