This place was more pathetic than I had imagined it would be. Berwyn was completely wrong, and to be honest, I couldn't wait to go back and rub it in my brother's face that he was the idiot out of the two of us. This place was so harmless it wasn't even funny. It was more than boring, and I didn't see why everyone warned people about this place? I could see a few other pairs of horses out in the distance, but even from here it looked like everyone was cordial to each other, so why was this such a big deal? I wanted to know, if only someone would actually show me, that's another story though.

I let the duo tones of my eyes skirt across the land. Most assumed both my eyes were blue, but they weren't. The right one was, due to the pattern of white that had occluded over the skin around my eye. There was some reason, but to be honest, I didn't care much. I let the thought of sticking out like a sore thumb slip into the back of my mind. Momma told me I was a looker, and that my eyes would draw more attention to myself than I wanted. It's pretty obivous I don't listen to her, isn't it?

It was only that after a while of hanging out in the shadows that I had an eerie feeling that I wasn't alone within the shadows. I felt like I was being watched, but I had shit for vision in the dark, to be honest. I tried to look around, but I saw darkness, nothing but darkness. Damnit. That's why I never went anywhere without Ber. He was better at this than I was. I found myself shifting restlessly back and forth, body tense, ready to spring should I need to run from this place. But there was a part of me that was thrilled at the feeling. I needed this kind of excitement in my life.

"Is there anyone there?!" my soft voice booms out in the darkness, a sound that echoed lightly in the realm of the trees.

One part scared, the other thrilled, who would win?
