WMoteuh’s ears dropped slightly when he talked about bad things that happened far from home. She felt as like there was something about that statement that was important, like it applied to her. But she could not remember what it was. There was a danger in going too far, of course! Her Angels had always tried to keep her close, keep her safe, and make sure they could get to her in a time of need. At the same time, they encouraged her to try, though never to try when they weren’t around.
Her face fell more, suddenly concerned they would be displeased with her for traveling so far from the safety of where they had put her. But still! She had come all this way on her own! She had made it and only need a little bit of rest to get her breath back! There had to be something good about that. Even if they were upset that she had gone so far, she was sure they would be happy that she had made it.
Pulled from her worries, she looked back at her new found friend and whimpered at him in concern. Her eyes were drawn to his sore butt and she just wanted to help. Maybe I can help get those for you? She offered, wiggling forward, though still not completely leaving the comfort and safety of the sheltering bush. She grew even more excited when the boy offered to let her stay in Asteraia! With his sister being the Queen she would be safe and protected in the land! Her Guardian Angels would almost have to let her stay! They would want her to explore and see other lands. In that heartbeat, she made up her mind to ask them as soon as she saw them! Whether it be when she got back to them, or when they found her. Lopsided face split into a smile and she opened her mouth to speak, but her words were cut off.
A vicious snarl ripped through the peace between the two souls and a russet form surged forward like a bloody red lightning bolt along the ground. Vitaliya, blinded by the idea that anything unknown would have dared come too close to her charge, stood over Moteuh, every hair on her body standing on end. Her concern for the pup was masked by fury. White fangs were bared to their tips, ready to snap at Lazarus without hesitation and without reason. The vengeful she-wolf loomed over the runt, seconds from tearing him to shreds.
W..w… .w...w-ait! Moteuh tried to gasp through her startled breathlessness. The shock of Vitaliya’s sudden appearance had broken her peaceful and effortless focus. H...he doesn’t w...want t...to hurt..t. m...me… She attempted to explain as quickly as she could, before her red saviour could devour her new friend.
Vitaliya’s dull yellow eyes snapped to Moteuh’s body for an instant before whipping back to the runt with another snarl. Explain. Was all the Diveenian nightmare hissed, her voice ice cold and venomous.
