Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

There was something different about him, both regarding the ache in her chest that seemed eased only when he was near and the way he regarded her as she spoke. He was unique, an anomaly, and to her studious mind this made him all the more intriguing. Her dark ears pricked forward to show interest and catch his rather stinted words, she wondered why he spoke so differently and yet did not mind the words even going so far as to smile faintly as he mentioned he had been hoping to be found. So she had been right there, this gave her more pleasure as he continued speaking. He ended with a question, well two questions to be exact and she finds she appreciates this even more as someone who excelled in asking questions and finding their answers herself.

She shifted a little as he drew closer, not in awkwardness but simply adjusting to the sensation of being so close to someone who was not family. Quietly she studies him for a moment with her jeweled eyes, considering her reply before speaking which is something very few wolves seemed to do anymore. “Have you ever heard of an imprint?” She pauses to let him answer while finalizing her conclusions as to what exactly was taking place here. “It is the idea that fate or what-have-you intertwines two wolves souls to be a part of one another. That from the moment they meet onward they will now shar a piece of each other.” When she had first heard of the phenomenon she had been rather incredulous, the idea that some magical moment connecting two souls being a bit too far out there even for her studious mind, but she could not deny what she now felt when she looked into the mismatched eyes of this boy.

Blinking away she took looked over him once more, with many questions welling up in her head she had to fight back her inquisitive nature lest she overwhelm him. “What is your name?” There, that was simple enough to start with and while there was a whole host of questions lining up behind that she was trying her best not to scare him off.
