News - 6/19/21
Summer is here and Fall is short around the corner. There is unrest as it stands but, perhaps it is to our advantage. Let no one question our strength. Those who wish to speak on rank, seek me out. If anyone wishes to put a hunt together inform me. Adults or others who wish to rise in rank may seek me out.

SHATTER THE SKY : HALCYON
IP: 174.195.143.0

Things had changed.

It was the inexorable pull of time and pressure that had begun to wear on me. Halcyon had made things seem so simple and perhaps for him, it had been. He was stalwart in his beliefs whereas I was still lost at times. With each passing season a revelation was revealed to me about myself and I had come to the conclusion I didn't like it. Didn't like me.

I was selfish and when I had mocked Eden we both knew the truth - I was just as bad. That my friends had been there for me through each hit, each fall, and yet I was not there for them. I had not went to Elohim to comfort him when his brother died. Had not led the charge on Aranck when Pine saved my own wolves from death. Everything given to me was just that - given. I had not earned the mantle of Empress. I had, indeed, been born with a silver spoon - those loyal to me before I understood the logic of loyalty.

Then there was the struggle of Halcyon, watching him waste away. The disease or sickness had ebbed slowly and he had remained, no longer winnowing into a bare existence, but my duties required more attention since my declaration to Glorall. No one knew... no one knew that I had found her body encased in the grotto, murder written across her wasting carcass. Creatures had stolen nourishment from her and I had wept over the rotting flesh that was left. The last piece of my family... gone. It had taken me most of the night to bury her there, in the cold confines were she had first met my mother. I remember her affection for Aithne and her comfort when I wept, when I shared the news, and I felt hollow on the inside. When I was done I bathed in the pool of water where they had shared their first words then I went home and slept beneath the cold starlight because I didn't want to wake Halcyon. I couldn't tell him, not yet, not when he was trying to survive and I was growing colder by the day.

Eden said I wasn't there for my allies and it was true, but I failed my family. How long had she been gone? My fury was white hot - Eden should have checked. She had come to HIM to be his subject... she... had chosen wrong. I didn't weep anymore but I grew busy. Then that wolf had crept into my pack and I had bit Mugen just to get him to shut up, my fury no longer controlled. Just as, in anger, I bite Elohim. I was becoming something different and I felt an aching hollow within me - it is what drives me this twilight back to the den I share with Halcyon.

"Hal?" I say softly into the darkness of the den. I did not wish to wake him if he slumbered for his healing was a monumental task and he was little more than a skeleton. Fear hugged me in the back of my throats each day - would I arrive back from my rounds to a dead body? Would he, too, be cast from my life? It would shatter me.

(As we discussed he doesn't know what went down between her and Eden but she will tell him ;) )
