there is no greater pain
or punishment than memory

There was only one thing to do when the quest was heavy on his mind; get going with it. See where the first part of it led before he did anything about it. That first part being getting to the underwater castle and finding out who Mallos' youngest daughter was. Then he could decide how to proceed from there. The whole thing was off from what he normally did for mercenary work, because taking people involved far too much hassle in most instances. And when he did those rare few jobs like that, it was always a grab and pass, not grab and hold and then pass like this would be. There wasn't a good feeling about that part of this already, because he didn't really want to keep any strange females around for any length of time. It was uncomfortable to him to even think about. But perhaps he could always bribe her to stay out of sight for two months, if she was able to agree to such things. It was a possiblity that he wanted to hold onto, which made the grab and pass afterwards much easier on him.

Still, he had yet to set eyes on this youngest daughter of the sun god, and doing that would answer a few questions that Quinn had on the subject. Of course actually meeting her, speaking to her would answer even more, but the biggest issue was finding out which one she was. A name might help too; probably a very lot. Which was why he began his search by asking after the name of Mallos' youngest daughter. But he did it in a covert sort of way, so not to raise suspicion. With both the way he looked -- totally different, so he wasn't noticed as himself -- and how he asked things. The sort of questioning that went somewhere along the lines of "was it Mallos that had seven kids? oh, didn't he have a daughter named Susan? no? which one did I hear about then? but that one was the youngest, wasn't she?" to which the answers often would include a list of all possible names, and then the one that led to the youngest daughter's name. Angela. That was a start, a very good start.

Now to figure out which one was Angela. He couldn't really go about asking which one it was in the same manner, since that seemed a little too strange to be passable, but he could linger around the castle grounds and find out. He had been here a few times before, both for bounties accepted and done and to battle one of the challengers here. He felt that he did enough to not raise eyebrows being here, though he had to remind himself that he also did not at this moment look like his true self, either. This was a new habit for him, doing things more like a spy or assassin and not wanting to be seen as himself. It was the training he had gotten for these types of jobs. He had learned a great deal from them, so it worked out for him; yet it was strange to try and conform to things he wouldn't have wanted to do beforehand. Trying to do things for the good of his home life was changing him in little ways, but maybe that was for the best. Quinn pushed that to the back of his mind for now, focusing on looking for Angela, whatever she looked like, while strolling near the castle grounds.
