Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

She could not believe that she had actually begun to live in one of the stories! She probably should have felt worried, maybe even afraid, and yet she felt almost exhilerated by the drama unfolding all around Moladion. It made her feel guilty to be sure but she had always had a lust for the stories and myths of the past and now, she had found herself in the midst of feuds, alliances and enemies. Well, not personally, but her affilitation and allegience to Diveen had certainly put her close to the proverbial hot water, no? It wasn't as if she wanted war - or any conflict at all - but she had begun to weave talltales of gallant knights and callous spies to keep herself occupied during her house-arrest. Ah, yes. Her mother, despite Yuki being an adult herself, had forbid her from roaming too far from Diveen.

But how did they expect that to work, huh?

She had been careful during her great escape but careless in her adventure across the vastness of Moladion; every scent was explored, every cave probed, no path left unturned. Who were the bad guys? Who were the forces of evil? She practically twirled through the early morning fog as she crashed through the autumn grass. She might have continued to do so too had her face not suddenly wrinkled up in pure agony and disgust - skunk! She stiffened instantly with a deep breath, a desperate attempt to hold it while she found a quick escape. It didn't matter how many steps she took, it seemed like the skunk was everywhere.

And then she found the source - or rather, she heard it before she found the woman seemingly trying to wash herself free from the stink. Yuki kept her breath held though her head had begun to feel light, forced to exhale suddenly as she poked her head out from the grass and into view of the stranger. "Oh noooo," she called out, shaking her head almost desperately, "you get back in there until you smell like spring!" She coughed, though arguably for drama's sake. There was no aggression in her voice and really, she was trying to be helpful. "Or...at least come here! Let me find something to cover it up." What was the point in knowing some healing if you couldn't whip up a stink remover, anyway?
