Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

Nahal

While her crown tilted to the right, her eyes rounded in wonder at his reply. How did his response make sense? A small frown of thought formed on her muzzle as her eyes shifted while she quickly worked through the miscommunication she was responsible for. By of testing, she moved her mouth silently in the form of what she thought was the proper way to pronounce her name and then practiced Haziel’s name. Oh. There laid her mistake. She’s mistaken the syllable “Na” in her name (“Ha-hal”) with “Ha” of Haziel’s since she’d practiced that form more, though his name had nothing to do with the phrase “I am Nahal.” However, Replacing “Na” with “Ha” opened up a whole variety of misinterpretation. Considering his response, she thought maybe he had mistaken “Ha-hal” for home or here, thus creating either phrases, “I am home” or “I am here.” Both of which his reply would be sensible to.

Her eyes only just caught out of the corner of them, Haziel’s mouth moving. Her ears popped forward and she wriggled eagerly to catch the rest of his question “…like to do then?” Nahal hopped to agilely to her paws and responded - her words lazily and drawn out, “Ler-nn speech o’ cet-ch up.” It had been years since she had practiced dedicated speech, and she longed to have intelligent conversation with her brother again. She was aware of her idiocy about noise and she decided that she would socialize herself until, at the very minimum, she was fun to speak with instead of work. However, she knew she could absorb such things through casual conversation as well. The more she engaged others, the more fluid she’d become at lip reading and the better she’d be able to distinguish proper tongue and lip position for creating words. So even more valuable to her, would be catching up with the years of Haziel’s life she’d missed! There was so much she no longer knew about him. Who was he to Glorall? What was his relation with Eden? Was Alcmene his mate? Did he have pups?

“You choose,” Nahal purred, a fine quality entering her voice and for the single phrase, one could hear the fullness of sound she might have been capable of without the hindrance of deafness. Her preference would be to hear all about Haziel, but she would approach practice with as much enthusiasm. She understood if she had to earn chatting with her brother and she knew that eventually, she would succeed because there was nothing more important to her than him. It was simply a matter of relearning how to interact with him and what he preferred or hated… Maybe he had developed a new pet peeve she was unaware of? She most certainly would have to know about that, being his sister.
