Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

JETTA

Tinuvel. Jetta mentally chewed on this information for a moment, nodding thoughtfully. She had not seen her brother since he broke the news of Inka’s death to her a year ago.

On that fateful day, once Jetta had had a chance to process the tragedy, Diamant had revealed how he had stormed off following Inka’s Freudian slip, lurked in the lagoon for a time, and then returned to find out she had died. Jetta had known all this, of course - she and her mother had shared nearly everything with each other. Nonetheless, she listened while Diamant wailed over the fact that he had been robbed of his chance to reconcile with Inka, and she comforted him when he began to blame himself for her death.

It had been difficult to put her own grief aside, and to shed only silent tears when she wanted to do nothing more than cry her heart out, but she had been determined to be there for Diamant. It was no matter that he was technically her uncle; he had been raised as her little brother, and she had never seen him as anything but that, despite having known the truth since he was born.

When Diamant left it was without knowing where he would go, and Jetta had often wondered where he had ended up, since there was no sign that he had returned to the lagoon. Now that she knew he had ventured to the island of their heritage, it made sense - Inka’s death, and the discovery of his true parentage had affected him so deeply that it was only natural he would seek answers wherever he could find them.

Merete spoke again, pulling Jetta from her reverie, and her pale eyes widened. So Diamant had spilled his secret. “Yes,” she replied softly, and twisted an ear to one side. “It’s good to know where he is, at least. Perhaps I’ll go visit him, if he intends to stay there for a while. It would be nice to finally see Tinuvel too... How is he, anyway? He was struggling the last time I saw him. I hope he didn’t burden you too greatly.”
