♡I was made for loving you♡

even though we may be hopeless hearts
just passing through

Jaci looked neither like her mother, nor her father, but her grandmother. Her grandmother who had been as white as snow, as the clouds that touched upon the blue skies. Her grandmother who had been wild and strong, her grandmother who had fought a mountain lion and won, bearing scars from the claws that had raked throw her back and rump. Jaci had looked to her grandmother in admiration and pure love, wanting to be as strong as she was some day. Her grandmother would look upon her grandchild, brown eyes cool, but loving, and she would say to the little filly who looked so much like her and say ‘you can be as strong as you want, and even stronger than that.’ And Jaci would growl and bare her baby teeth as they would play fight upon the mountain top. Perhaps, even more than her mother, father, and siblings, Jaci’s grandmother was the hardest to leave behind.

Jaci thinks that this man is strong like her grandmother. Eyes of blue catch his of amber and sees the fire inside him and she wants to know what ignites it. Was it his bravery? His intelligence? Was he a fighter? Fire just does not appear and Jaci wants to find out what his spark is. She breaks the eye contact by letting her long eyelashes flutter close and open once again, not embarrassed by her curiosity for the man of duo colors, she unabashed, open, her temple unguarded. Jaci was not a secretive being, in fact, she was full of pure honesty and love. If someone were to cut her open, she would bleed rainbows, faith, and kindness; flowers, loving glances, and first snowfalls.

“Would someone try to take me?” She asks, was as white as dandelions flittering forward to his words, head tilting sideways with an expression that can only be read as innocence, ignorance to the wicked ways of the world. “Well, I am glad I am with you then,” she says, proceeding a step closer to the stallion, her body relaxed, comfortable. Reckless girl softly fills the curve of her lips. Perhaps, Jaci was too trusting of a creature. She was just a little girl who had never strayed far from her mountain before, the little girl with a wanderer’s heart, who had been confined to a single home for most of her young life. She doesn't know how not to trust someone, she puts her heart into everyone she meets and asks them not to break her little heart of glass.

When he snorts, she gives a light (think of a puppy sneezing) snort as well, giggling like high wind chimes and a trickling fountain. He laughs and she instantly loves his laughter, deciding this is her favorite thing about him. While hers is delicate, dainty, girly even, his is booming, it rumbles, and it seems to roll across the space in between the two equine. “I am sure you will,” she responds, voice light and airy once more. “I will have to tell you a story about a king who saved his kingdom some time,” and with her words she realizes she wants to touch him again. So once more, like the touch of a puppy’s nose against its mother, Jaci touches his shoulder, excitement rushing through her, releasing her touch as quickly as she had made the contact with him. Head of freshly fallen snow tosses into the air as her mane flips to the same side of her nape before answering his question. “I come from some mountains far away from these islands. I lived near the top of one mountain, where when it snowed, the snow was as white as the clouds, and we had wildflowers in the spring of any color you could think of. But the nights were my favorite, you could count every star,” she says, her voice filling with love for her homeland, for her family.

And then baby blues look to the tobiano once again. As much as she loved everything about her past, she could see in his eyes of amber that he would lead her to her future. A future she hoped had as many adventures and magic as she had experienced thus far.
