Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

- Zelda -

((All information regarding Orion’s thoughts/feelings on Arace have been talked through with Ori since the thread isn’t done yet! <3))

She knew something was going to happen, the moment his call came across the land she just knew. He said he was leaving Taviora, that he didn’t want them blamed for his actions. Zelda knew then that something very bad was going on and regardless on what happened next due to whatever it was he would do, Zelda was not about to let him renounce his home over what she already warned would happen. Call intuition, or her own foretelling of what would occur should Arace had been captured by Iromar. Zelda told Pine that an imprint bond was powerful, that Starfall shouldn’t be held accountable or punished for what Arace had done though harming her. No, she didn’t mean for that to mean Arace shouldn’t be tried or captured, even questioned, but it certainly didn’t mean killing her. It was hard, but something just didn’t feel right to Zelda, the moment she had heard about what happened in Iromar, that Pine blamed Arace and Diveen, going so far as to declare them enemies, Zelda knew she had to find the truth. She had taken the time to gather information, learn what was known or unknown to those that might have been involved. It was namely Diveen then that she had wanted to go to. She had went and talked to it’s leader directly, to see if it was truely them to have done such thing. That was where she had been, finding the truth while others were blind by their anger and she had learned a lot. She only just returned a short while ago, and was still trying to figure out exactly what happened.

Orion said he had never seen her, or heard of her before. He even felt bad for the innocent wolfess and her family that had died in Iromar. Ultimately it seemed that something else was going on. Zelda was relieved when she heard that, heard that he was the wolf she thought he was. Reasonable, just hurt and angry at the ones who took his child away. That though was a mission for another time. His crusade against cannibals did not need to turn into a war against Iromar and Diveen, she had that information now. Sure, the wolf could have lied to her, but something told her on his reactions he had been honest with her. What reason was there for him to lie to her? They had talked for some time, but by the end Zelda knew Arace was not told by the leader, or anyone that he was aware of, to hurt anyone in Iromar. Someone might have framed Diveen… The wolf that stole her maybe? That would have to be Zelda’s next goal. Orion didn’t seem to know anything about that either. Zelda would have to track them down next. Now with her soon to be champions she felt she could manage something to help quell the darkness that seemed to want to over take Moladion. Armed with the truth and determination to fight through the shadows she wanted to do it.

However, she had yet to even collect her thoughts to go to Iromar with this new information. She feared maybe she had taken too long, maybe it had gone to far seeing what Starfall had done and she was right. She had been sitting above her den, resting, as best she could at least, and collecting her thoughts before the next big journey to Glorall or Iromar happened. Her heart had nearly leapt from her chest as his call reached her ears, causing her to jump up to her paws. She started to leave before it dawned on her that she could heal as well, gathering up her own healing goods, not sure what to expect, before grabbing her raccoon pelt and sending up a call to let him know she was coming. She knew her mother would be better to be there for anything bad, but she didn't expect anything too terrible, certainly not the horror to which she was about to be faced with several minutes after her departure.

She came upon the scene and her heart stopped. She saw the wolfess, beaten, bloody battered and Zelda half wondered if Starfall had brought her a corpse until she saw the very faint rise and fall of her sides. Her body shook and tears began forming in the young wolfess’ eyes as the reality of what happened sunk into her. She didn’t know, she was too late to help Arace, to help Iromar understand. For it was the scent of the moorlands on her battered bodies pelt. She didn’t know how much she could do to even save her. She rushed towards Arace, without further hesitation, Starfall was still okay right? Worry filled her on what would happen if she were to not treat her properly, and Zelda called to her mother for more help. There was no way she could do this alone.

She applied pressure and started at the wounds that were meant originally to drain her blood. Cleaning then placing aloe and moss to those. She knew her mother wouldn’t be far behind. ”I’m so sorry Starfall… I’m so sorry. I was too late to stop them from doing anything. I’m so sorry.” She didn't even look at him, just continued to feverishly work to save his imprint, tears blocking her vision as she tried her hardest to patch up the wolfess. Evil or not, no one deserved this. Why..? why, did Pine this this was right? Think this of all things was justice? She wasn’t doing a good job holding herself together, but she was doing her best to stop the blood flow. She was almost overwhelmed by how beaten she was. Her paws looked broke, her face ripped and torn. How could anyone think this was okay, how could her cousin let his own imprint do this? Did he even know? She felt so heavy already, so guilty for everything and now all the answers she got, might not even save Arace.

but legends endure.

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
