PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

JETTA

From where she lay on the ground, Jetta took a moment to squeeze her eyes tight and tried to force her jumbled thoughts into a coherent stream of consciousness. Adelheid’s question rang in her ears, too loud. A sudden pain like a vice gripped her head, and Jetta let out a helpless little whimper. She had never known such pain, and could feel the cool fingers of unconsciousness tickling the edges of her mind.

Thankfully, the pain passed after just a few moments, and then suddenly she was clear-headed. Jetta’s eyes flickered open, and she once more stared up at her sisters. Her pale, dirty face was slack with dumbfoundment, and she became aware of how dry her mouth was.

“Drink… I need a drink,” she muttered, and lurched to her feet unsteadily. Without warning she turned and hurried away from her sisters, knowing they would follow, and stumbled through the undergrowth toward the sounds of a nearly trickling stream. Once she had reached it, the mare all but dunked her face into its cool waters, and drank until she was bursting for air.

Heaving a heavy breath, she lifted her head and closed her eyes, relishing a sudden breeze that cooled the heat of her skin. “Adelheid,” she finally said in a croak. “I had a vision you would come. I saw you, here, plain as day. You were angry at me… You were angry, because you did not know that Mother had died while you were away.”

She turned to face her sisters, and stared at Adelheid with tear-filled eyes. When she spoke again, her voice was turbulent with emotion. “I wish I could say that part was not true.”
