'cause oh i'm bleeding out inside; oh i don't even mind

It's better to look at everything as being ephemeral, fleeting. Maybe that would make things feel less painful when it ended or was ripped away from him. Quinn was beginning to think of things as in the moment and nothing more than that. This type of thinking would be easier for him, and leave him in less pain. He could live on urges alone, couldn't he? He doesn't want to feel hurt anymore, or alone, or anything problematic like that, but life was messy and today said it all. Quinn watched the reaction she had to his words and whatever they were making her feel, because she was crying and it seemed like there was some kind of switching thing that happened here between them.

Quinn probably could disappear here, if he made some kind of deal with Aura, but Quinn really didn't want to go down that path. Seemed like a waste, plus it wasn't in his best interest to be making any deals with any deities. They did not tend to end well. And he could deal with his issues by himself. He didn't need anyone else to help him do that. Relying on someone else just did not end well for him, deity or not. Better to just not do that. All of this passes through his mind in moments and Echidna was already talking to him, saying sorry for not being honest. Quinn didn't know what to say about that right now. So he went with the only thing he knew to say. "Water under the bridge now." He remarked evenly.

The whistle and then the mare who came along has Quinn frowning, but he doesn't make a move and he just watches and waits. When she came over to him and placed something into his hands after giving his cheek a kiss, Quinn reached out with his other hand to try and hold onto Echidna. He glances at the feather and amethyst necklace, not sure what exactly the meaning of it is, but it's pretty. When she starts to speak again he holds back a sigh, but he knows that he should hear this if she's saying it. Hear her out, even though he's decided to just let it all go. He doesn't need to harbor that kind of pain anymore, and he doesn't want to be upset with her anymore. He wants to think of other things; things without pain.

At least not the emotional kind of pain, because he still likes the other kind. Still craves it like blood, though he's content with keeping his promise as far as siphoning goes. When Echidna mentions leaving, he squinted up at her. "I'm not interested in letting all of that mess with me any further, so I won't. I'm putting it behind me now. So no, I don't want you to leave. I'll take what I can get when I can get it." He aims a careful smile at her. "Don't hate yourself. I don't hate you." He adds calmly, letting go of her arm and deciding for the moment to take the time to put the necklace on. "How's it look?" He asked, quirking an eyebrow at her.
