Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

He couldn't be happier. He had noticed the swell in Inanna's stomach and he had enough common sense to know what it meant. He felt lighter on his feet. He had taken to hunting more frequently so he could keep piling up food at the den. He never wanted her to go hungry. The tricky part was finding things that she was craving. It seemed her appetite was all over the place lately and he didn't know enough about pregnancy to know if that was the cause or if something else was bothering her. Surely she wasn't regretting accepting him as her mate already? It felt like they hadn't even gotten over the honeymoon phase in his opinion. He couldn't get enough of her. To know that she'd chosen him...it was like a dream come true. But now he had a new mission in mind. Now he had to show her that she hadn't chosen wrong. That he was the better option and he could provide for her and his growing family. He knew Samia would be head over heels when she found out.

Meanwhile he felt like he was making a very slow breakthrough with Blackthorne. The kid was cocky and he liked to use intimidation to get what he wanted. Luckily that wouldn't work with Thor but he had to give the kid props for persistence. Good thing he had that trait as well. He wasn't going to just give up on the task Eden had given him but he felt like he wasn't doing anything else for the pack in the meantime. He had to get out of this slump. He wanted to be a warrior and a defender of Glorall. He wanted to help take some of the stress of ruling off Eden's shoulders. Anything he could do to help with the burden, if Eden would allow it. There had to be something surely that he could do. He set out to ask Eden himself, but in the meantime, he needed to once again find something to bring back to Inanna. He was going after her usual favorite dish this time, crab. Sometimes she liked to mix it up on him and ask for seagull or fish or even something more from the mainland every once in a while.

It was quite a trip but he didn't mind. She was worth it. He tracked the bubbles coming up to the surface of the sand, digging where he was sure there would be a prize. He hit a few dead ends before finally a big claw stuck through the sand where he was digging. Grinning in earnest, he dug more around the claw and then dove in quick to pull it up, releasing once the crab was free so he wouldn't get caught by the other claw. Over time, he had gotten back used to hunting such creature and pretty soon it became almost second nature, crab hunting. He wouldn't say he was pro status yet, but he would claim it to the world if only to tease Inanna further since it was their ongoing joke. The crab snapped its claws at him in warning before trying to make a break for it down the beach. Snapping his own jaws back in retaliation, Thor bounced around it in a circle, playing with it at first before he dove in close and lunged, snapping down on the back of the crab's shell. There was an audible crack and he knew he'd done damage but the crab was hurt and angry, snapping it's giant claws toward him again.

He danced back out of reach, snapping at it a few more time before he dove in again, this time using his paws to slap down hard on the arms of the crab even as his mouth wrapped around the shell again and jerked up this time, dismantling the shell from the claws. The crab was no more. He felt like a champion, his eyes shining brightly as any star in the sky. Giving one last shake to the crab, he moved it around in his mouth so that he could scoop up the claws too, taking it to the ocean to clean the sand from the pieces before he carefully set them in the basket he made from a turtle shell. One crab was no meal but a shell full of crabs...well, that was at least a snack for a pregnant wolf, right?
