'Yes, totally my fault…and I should have been looking where I was going.'
He saw her relax and he smiled briefly before he had coughed again, trying to clear his throat from all the fallen words from his maw. He had gone on to introduce himself as Aindreas and she had thanked him for not being mad of all things. Aindreas shook his head before leaving it tilted at an angle. "What a peculiar sentiment, miss - it was not as if you knocked me over on purpose. Only a wounded fool would place anger where instead there should be understanding." It was an odd thing for Aindreas to say - especially considering he was a Tempest, an Oferweder. He was always boiling over with anger and rage himself, a thin line of defense keeping it under wraps, keeping it contained. Yet somehow he was still able to overwhelm it and overpower it with politeness and propriety instead.
But his manners and his confidence melted away into nothingness as soon as the second femme arrived. Aindreas mumbled and stuttered over his lost words until he strung enough of them together to make a sentence. He felt like an idiot in his redundancy, and even more like an idiot as a lopsided grin grew on his kissers in response to her softly whispered giggles. Aindreas felt like his pounding heart would leap out of his maw at any moment, or as if she would hear the loud thump thump thump of his valved organ.
'I’m Pepper…I just…bumped…into an alpha! Sorry, I’m not very great at talking with others either.'
Aindreas shook his head and gave a soft smile to the first female. "Again, the apology is not needed. An alpha - a good alpha - should be just like any other wolf. Anyone who is prideful or lords themselves over others for power is not an alpha at all." For that one instant, his shyness and awkwardness once again disappeared. It was something that he believed very strongly, and was the reason that he had left so many alphas in the past. It was his main goal when it came to ruling - to never been like that. He wanted to run his pack like a family, whether or not they were blood relatives. There should be mutual respect, and everyone should pull their own weight. A pack was meant to be powerful because they worked together, because they supported one another. His glowing blue pearls shifted back to the other ess, to his Soulmate, the one destined to be the mother of his pups if she would have him. But the odds of that seemed rather thin, given his current performance. He had always been rather subtle when it came to his emotions, but he felt like any and every inhibition that he had so carefully crafted had suddenly melted away, and it had left him in this liquid heap. His jaw was practically on the ground when she began to speak again, and Aindreas found himself flabbergasted how just the very sound of her voice made him weak at the knees.
'Well, Aindreas and Pepper, I'm Mai and unlike you Aindreas, I'm no alpha, I'm actually new here and the land seems quite strange. Pardon if I'm stepping over any boundaries but, why are your eyes glowing?'
Aindreas found himself nodding along with her words and afterward too, until a few moments of silence into it, he realized that he was nodding along to nothing but the sound of his own galloping heartbeat. Aindreas shook his head and exhaled slowly. He needed to focus on something, anything. And she had brought up his eyes - that would have to be it. Aindreas nodded once, twice. That was right - he was a Tempest, an ancient warrior marked by magic. That was the reason he even had a Soulmate to begin with. It was nothing to be ashamed by, and was something to be proud of. Aindreas closed his shades and by doing so, hid his orbs briefly. When he opened them, he was coolly calm, the gently swaying of his tail the only thing remaining to belay his anxiety. "They glow because I am a Tempest, one of a few left in the bloodline. They allow me certain abilities, along with certain responsibilities." A half cocked smile graced his lips as he looked at Mai. "In addition to... certain gifts." He moved his gaze back to the first femme and slowly swept it between the two. "I am the sworn enemy of the vampires and the sworn protector of the Arcus Irae."
