Slowly, the stranger emerged from the shadows, his own growls mimicking Zephyr's. As he speaks, the white wolf quietly sniffs his scent, getting smacked in the face with the heavy smell of his long lost older brother. Though he cared little for his sibling, the fact that this wolf had been close to him immediately made him curious. Jade eyes narrowed as the dark male began to circle, but he made no movement to follow. Hackles raised and guard up, he was prepared for anything that might come from the mysterious wolf.
Just then, another wolf, this one much older came trotting forward and for a moment, Zephyr was knocked off his guard. The words she said were lost to him, but her voice confirmed that she was, indeed, a female. It was like looking at his doppelganger! The similarities were too many for it not to feel uncomfortable and he let his eyes stay on her for too long. Before he could tear them away, it was too late. They had him surrounded.
No one moved to make an attack, but the tension in the air was thick enough to suffocate. That didn't last long. Blackthorne spoke again, his words like ice that jabbed viciously into Zephyr's gut. 'The blood of your sister still warms my belly - I wonder, would yours taste just as bitter?' Eyes grew wide for a brief moment before narrowing into dangerous slits. Seething anger filled his belly as a deep, menacing growl oozed from this exposed fangs. It didn't matter how these strangers knew him and his sister. He was talking about Aakil! This bastard had killed his beloved sister, his only light in the world! In that moment, nothing mattered. The wolf was cast into the darkness, never to be found again. He didn't care what happened next, all he saw was the wolves before him, laughing about his dead sister.
"I'll fucking kill you!" Zephyr exploded, his paws carrying him forward in a rage fueled attack. His first target had been Blackthorne, but in that moment, Eve had snapped in his direction. Jade eyes turned to her and his fury was blasted in her direction. Barking loudly, he leapt in a frontal assault, aiming for her face and those eyes that were so like his. Never mind he was younger and smaller than she, never mind he was inexperienced. It didn't matter. The only thing on his mind now was revenge. Time seemed to slow as the strangers reacted to his attack. All the while, Aakil was singing softly in the back of his mind as her spirit left him forever.
