Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

P.S. Psh I never mind waiting for your awesomeness (:

Thor tilted his head at Thorne's quick response. He thought for a moment before raising a brow. "Okay, so how would you keep a firm paw on a growing pack? Most lead through fear or respect. Which would you choose and how would you go about it? Fear only lasts so long and if you want strong wolves, then fear is almost non-existent. They will have an uprising. As for respect...that would meant certain sacrifices. No attachments, nothing that can be held as weakness. Let's say a pack member's mate becomes ill. You know she's not going to make it. Do you make him kill her? Do it yourself? How do you plan on holding his respect after it's over? There will alwasy be resentment, maybe even hate. So many decisions to make, such a fine line to walk when you have high standards for your members." His tail twitched, curiosity burning in his gaze as he waited for his answer. He shook his head and sighed when Thorne said that he wouldn't be worth it if he needed help. He wasn't getting the point. "What if you are jumped by multiple wolves? You think you can take on numbers and strategy? You aren't invincible. No one is. You have to know when it's okay to accept the right kind of help. Your ego won't get you anywhere." He almost felt like grinding his teeth in frustation by this point. Why didn't Thorne get it? Why did he insist that he have to take on everything alone? This whole him against the world routine would only get him killed.

Thorne must have seen his momentary loss of temper because he grinned and started dancing in his movements, taunting him by moving to the side. Thor only watched with a hint of amusement, ears pricked toward the younger wolf. He was going to keep going with the jibe of his parents, it would seem. Thor was good at adapting and using the same tactics wouldn't work on him. He listened patiently as Thorne said his parents' bones strengthened him. Then he asked if his own bones would have the same taste and he chuckled. "I wouldn't know. I don't taste myself on a regular basis. Maybe you'll get that chance...or maybe you won't. Rotted bones isn't much for calcium after some time, I can tell you that. You'll probably be weak in a matter of minutes. Almost not worth the fight." He smirked, his eyes dancing. He knew the moment Thorne was going to lunge because the dancing changed right before. He dutifully stepped back and to the side, watching as Thorne lunged for where his chest would have been. Snorting, he watched as Thorne then threw himself upward in a defense mechanism, trying to rake him with his claws. Thor charged him from the side, using the fact that his balance was swaying on only two paws right now to push his shoulder behind Thorne's front leg and shoulder then throwing himself upward and back to try to throw Thorne over on his back.

The younger wolf couldn't bite him from this angle and while he was down here, he could reach up and snap at the skin behind Thorne's other front leg where the leg met the torso. It would be easy to pinch and pull on and it would be a constant reminder until it healed that he didn't know as much as he thought he did. He continued his forward momentum and got out of reach before turning back to Thorne. "Want to try again? Maybe you'll actually get a taste this time." His eyes twinkled.
