Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

this is the end

The younger wolf who was acting as prey in this instance wasn't completely oblivious to the wolves stalking him, it would seem. As Myrria went after him, the boy manages to scramble and brake, trying to get away. It was a clumsy attempt but at least she didn't draw more blood. He could smell the fresh drops but it seemed only the boy's ear had been damaged which was better than his throat. As the younger wolf froze behind him, he could sense the fear in his gaze as he looked over at the other wolf who had attacked Myrria in defense first. They certainly seemed to know each other but Exodus was only here to protect an innocent so it didn't matter so much right now. He turned his gaze to the female who had looked like she was blocking off the younger male's path ahead. She seemed angered by their interference, which he could understand since they were keeping them from a meal or a good kill or even a good game of chase. Whatever it was the girls were after, it didn't look like the male was a willing volunteer so it didn't matter.

His ears twitched in puzzlment at the female's words, calling them fools and saying they didn't understand. He snorted in response, his gaze narrowing. She wasn't worth a response. The future didn't matter, only the present and in the present, he saw a wolf trying to attack another wolf. That was simple science. If he didn't act, she would probably have kept on attacking. She was spilling innocent blood. There was nothing more to understand. The female who spit words at them only showed her own evil intentions with the warning in her eyes. Wolves like this only understood violence. Exodus knew the kind well. His tail curved in challenge over his spine, daring the girl to make a move. Instead she hissed at them again, calling them snakes, and told Myrria to come. It was only her that his gaze softened for. When she looked at him, his ears tilted forward, his gaze begging for an explanation. He had thought they were getting past this, that they were coming to an understanding. When he told her about Azure, he thought it was breaking through some kind of barrier between them. Now he knew there was much more than that in the way.

The female hissed one more time but he didn't understand the words. He could see a warning in her eyes yet again though and his ears flattened once more, his lips curling back in distaste. He wondered if he would ever run into the female again. Then he'd see how tough she was really without all the talk. It only got you so far, after all. He was confirmed on who her partner was the minute his body collided with her. He instantly caught the whiff of Malleah and Lucia and himself and then the other female all on the coat that he rammed into. It was Myrria, there could be no doubt. He was confused and angry and just more confused than anything. She jumped to her feet after landing and he couldn't help but feel a slight pang of relief that he hadn't hurt her too badly. Then she growled at the other male who had come to help and he felt his protective instincts kicking in again. She mustn't hurt anyone else. Then she looked at him and he saw the shock in her eyes. It allowed his own gaze to soften as he silently questioned her. Why?

Then she was spitting out the ear and backing away. It was obvious she didn't want to fight anymore but it wasn't enough. He took a step forward only as she turned to run to the female's side. "Myrria, wait!" He called out, somehow hoping that she would turn back to him. Of course, he should have known better. She kept going, not even looking back once. He felt his heart rip a little. What would he say to Malleah, to Lucia? but he had other things to worry about. He turned back as he heard the male comforting the younger one, telling him he was okay as he cleaned the wound. Exodus' stayed where he was, not wanting to make the male uncomfortable with being too close after an attack like that. When the other thanked him, he nodded his head. "No problem. I'm Exodus." He felt it only polite to give him a name to call him by.
