I am Orb.
What had he done? He couldn't bring himself to understand the sheer depth of his actions. He knew that he'd met the female and she was confident and flirty. She had seemed to like him. She looked him up and down and even circled him like he was a meal but in the end he had nothing to fear from her, at least not in a dangerous sort of way. Instead she had seduced him into following her somewhere private and then pretty much walked him through how to follow his own animal instinct. It had felt...nice, in a way. And yet he was almost numb to it at the same time. He remembered that his mind had wandered to Elowen and then to Aster, as if they were watching him, judging him. And then he had hated himself. He was unfaithful and he wasn't even in a relationship. The female was attractive, yes, but she wasn't his soul mate or even his mate. She was just a pretty girl who had taken advantage of him. And yet he felt that the only one he could blame was himself.
He staggered around as if drunk in the aftermath, his head pounding as all the voices tried to get out at once. He remembered following the pull of his soul because it was too tiring to think of anywhere to go. Thinking in itself was exhausting right now. He knew he was sleep deprived and that wasn't helping matters. He felt weak and so he took the easy path. He found himself at Asteraia's borders somewhere along the way and he knew where he was. He smelled them and they smelled of Aster but also of someone else, a male. He remembered it vaguely from before but it was stronger now, as if he was more dominant in the lands than before. Did something change? He remembered that she kept pushing him away, saying they were nothing more than friends. She acted as if she was already attached so it only made sense. She had a mate. He wasn't her soul and yet she was happy enough with him to stay. Of course why would she choose otherwise? He couldn't make her happy. He couldn't make anyone happy.
Once he reached the borders, he collapsed, his mind all but shutting down, but not before he could send a single cry into the night, a silent one but a strong one in his mind, none the less. He called out for her, knowing somehow that she would feel his urgency and come. And then he closed his eye lids and let the darkness take him.
