PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

JETTA

Jetta was not naturally prideful or power-hungry. The mantle of Prime Minister still sat strangely on her shoulders, and she had a feeling it would take her some time to grow used to the title. Nonetheless, knowing how proud her mother would have been of her for achieving the goal Inka had failed to reach for herself helped some. It made Jetta feel as though she was carving out the path in her mother’s place - leaving a legacy in her memory - and that in itself was enough to carry Jetta onward with some sense of confidence.

It helped, too, to see Macabre introduce her with such pride.

Jetta gave her friend a grateful smile, then turned her eyes back to Orkaan. Her expression brightened visibly with interest at the mention that he had been in the Peak before. “Oh, really?” she replied, and took a moment to appraise his physical appearance again. He looked of an age with her, though his more impressive build gave the impression he might have been older. “It’s a shame we never ran into each other. I can’t say I remember a mare called Sterkte.”

A less trusting horse might have found Orkaan’s claim doubtful, given there was no evidence he had ever been here, but Jetta had never been prone to needless suspicion. Rather than wonder if he had made up his link to the Peak for some secret agenda, she simply took him at his word. Besides, the Peak was a big place with many nooks and crannies; it was easy to avoid others if you wanted to. And if Jetta’s theory was right, she might have more reason to trust this stallion than most.

“Oh, I’m afraid I’ve not got much of a story to tell, especially not compared to Macabre,” Jetta said with a rueful smile. “I was born and raised here with my mother and siblings. You said you come from the Arch - that’s on Tinuvel, right? Funnily enough, my mother was born there too. Her name was Inka; I don’t suppose you heard of her? Or perhaps you heard of her sire; he was very well known. His name was Het Vuur.”
