The brute padded through the dense trees, light brown paws hidden by the darkness of the night. The light from the moon crept through the trees where it could sliver its way in, lighting up patches of the ground on his way. Lupin’s green orbs were used to the darkness, it was where he was most comfortable. If he could sleep everyday and only be active at night he would. But then there would be so much of the world he would miss. Packs were active during the day, and so was the prey that he hunted. So he had to get used to being a creature of the night and day. Tonight was a particularly nice evening, a cool breeze going through his pelt as the seasons were changing to fall. Fall was his favorite. The winter was too cold, his fur never quite grew in thick enough and he was always cold. Summer was too bright and warm. And the spring was always raining. Fall was the perfect temperature and it was beautiful to watch the leaves change around him.
As the male was admiring the trees, he noticed a dead one on the ground, large with branches sticking out at all directions. The young male was not a particularly playful varg, but tonight he leapt upon the tree, his stilts balancing carefully so he didn’t fall. What he didn’t anticipate was how dead and eaten away the inside of the tree was, and it was after a few steps on the bark where he felt his paws sinking through and his form crashed to the ground. The brute let out a yelp of shock as he tumbled down, dirt and debris clinging to his brown pelt. Lupin clawed his way out of the rubble, panting as he did so. He was then surprised to see the form of a female next to where he had fallen. Green orbs widened in shock at seeing another being as he mumbled out an apology, apprehensive as to how this stranger would react to him interrupting her in such a rude way. But he was realized when he heard her laugh, she wasn’t angry, and she wasn’t about to attack him.
As the sound of her chuckle reached his audettes, he took a moment to examine himself. Twigs and debris covered his pelt, and even when he shook it out, some clung to him. "Don't worry about it hun, are you alright? You ummm…you seem to have something stuck in your coat there" The brute’s gaze turned back to the femme as she began talking, but then turned back to his pelt as her words continued. His teeth reached to pull some of the sticks out of his pelt, feeling awkward and unsure of himself around the stranger. When he realized that she had asked him a question, he made sure to answer, not wanting to be rude. ”Um…yes…I’m fine, thank you.” When his gaze turned back to her as he spoke, he saw that she had stepped a bit closer to him, but had stopped while still a few feet away. The femme exited the hole within the tree fully as she began to head in the direction of the mountains, letting her vocals ring through the air once more. "I'm sorry if I'm intruding upon your territory, I didn't smell any boundaries when I arrived here." The varg padded forward, her gaze showing that he could follow her. ”Oh, um…no. These lands aren’t claimed by any pack. My pack isn’t far from here though.” The male cocked his head to her, not catching any pack scents on her at all, but maybe she had been away from home for some time. Or maybe she was new. ”Do you live in a pack here?”
