Mom had been really tired since day one and he would have thought this was normal until he had figured out what an Aster was. She was also a mom but she was always up and about, sometimes checking on his mom, but most of the time doing stuff in that place outside of the dark hole they lived in. They had been told to stay put and watch over their mom for now and Prometheus was nothing if not dutiful to the cause.

Sometimes when miss Aster would visit there would be other small wolves with her that were a lot like he and his two siblings; it didn’t always happen but he was always excited when it did. There was one boy that really stuck with his memory, as feeble as it is, even though his name was a little weird. Aspy, Apees, Asspips… something like that. It was hard for him to pronounce at such a young age. But he didn’t mind trying as long as they could be friends.

As devoted as he was to Aster’s command to protect his mom he also found himself wanting to explore more of this outside world as the days passed. The company of his own littermates was just fine but he knew there was more out there, he had smelled it on Aspeth and his mom before. Luckily for him, his mom had not been strong enough to move them from their birthing den and so they were still pretty close to the queen’s home. Today he decided that he would shirk his responsibility and take his first look at this other world.

Nervously, he looks back to Saros and Corona, hoping they don’t try to talk him out of it or even worse… try to wake their mom. It would be a miracle if they did but he could tell that she was starting to move a little more than usual as of recently. His pale, stocky body climbed up the dirty slope leading to the mouth of the den, eyes of yellow and gray wildly intent upon the bright opening. He knows this will be great, he can feel it in his bones!

One step after another he finally makes it to the narrow opening and without hesitation breaches into the sunny unknown. His eyes narrow at the blinding light at illuminates his face and he feels its warmth for the first time. It was so comforting, much like the warmth of his mom’s body, but… different. His tiny, triangular ears are perked and ready for whatever may present itself to him, his eyes slowly opening as they adjust themselves to the light to witness the colorful splendor of the world above ground. ”Come here!” he exclaims to his brother and sister as he is awestruck by the multitude of things that await them.
