She is so enraptured by the two golden children at her belly that she does not detect the approach of their father despite his nearness to the den. Their whines are muffled only by the ravenous suckling and the new mother finds content for a moment. She was given enough time to contemplate their names and had come to a conclusion for both boy and girl. She props herself up on her elbows so that she may crane her neck to nuzzle each pup as their given name is spoken softly. ”Icarus, the boy who loved the sun and Myrcella, my golden princess.” Her heart swells with pride and complete infatuation for the tiny creations. She knew that nothing could return to how it once was now that they were in her life - they were her life.

A loving smile brightens her face within the dimness of the heavily rooted den and she reclines to allow herself to rest for a short time, her hazel eyes closing as she succumbed to sweet sleep.

Her nap had not lasted too terribly long and the vigorous motion of the pups kneading into her side was what had awoken her. She nudges them gently to release them from her teats before she stands in a crouch, her legs quivering slightly from the motion. She brushed the occurrence off as nothing more than general fatigue after delivering her two offspring and advances toward the mouth of her home. Her head spins as she moves, her paws feeling as if she were walking on air, everything seems to be moving so slowly around her that she doesn’t quite know what to do. She continues toward the den entrance and escapes into the weak sunlight of a now cloudy day. Her vision doubles as the world whirls around her and she stumbles a few paces, completely unaware of the reclining father figure nearby. Her paws catch on a curled root and her body collapses helplessly forward into the dampened ground.

Her paws struggled to grip the earth as her black claws rake into the mud only to slide away and return to her fallen state. Her eyes roll as she looks up to the dreary, gray sky and to the side as the blurry figure of a golden creature waits in the distance. Her weakened body finally gives in to utter exhaustion as her eyes roll to the back of her head and she is released from the physical world and into her own mind.
