The birds were safely tucked away in their cozy little beds, as were most animals. The sun had disappeared below the horizon hours ago making it unsafe for most prey animals to be out and about. After all, you never know who or what might be lurking in the darkness or how hungry they might be. The dark lady paused for a brief moment to look up at the dark sky and found it to be bejeweled with stars. She knew that others claimed to see things in the strange far, away lights but she never could. Takita let her head fall and continued on her lonely way. She had left the group of lupines conversing in the valley to go in search of something to settle her growling belly.
Upon entering the fields, Takita let her body pause for a moment to take in the open land infront of her before continuing. Rustling off to her left made her stop in her tracks. Audits of tan and black hues rotated forward, stormy grey optics searching the grass for the source. Large rounded ears shot upward infront of her. The rabbit unaware of the predator that lurked behind it. Takita let a half grin slide across her features as she shot forward, latching onto the tiny rabbit's frame. The rabbit let out an ear piercing shriek and kicked outward with it's hind legs. She lets out a snarl of annoyance as those sharp talons raked underneath her chin. The dark lady chomped down harder on the rabbit's spine and waited for the thing to go limp. Her stormy grey eyes shot around her as she took off across the field towards a spot along the treeline to eat.
