Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Regardless of how pejorative his little speech was I wasn’t going to give rise. He didn’t understand anything of what my family had gone through and what we did. I didn’t entertain those that thought my family was lower than dirt. We were a proud bunch, but we never were morally ambiguous about our targets. Always they had been wolves who had been tyrants, fiends, creatures that no one but their own kind would miss, and we would see to it that we sent them to be with each other again someday. That was what we did. Kattari was next on the list, and her brother here was right next to her. He would be the only one to miss her scourge across the lands, and I am certain he will want some sort of revenge against me or my family if we are the ones to find her first and end her.

I was about to leave, letting him ramble on when finally he did say something… interesting. I stop in my tracks, a little too obviously to play it off as something not interesting to me. ”We haven’t killed anyone recently. You lie.” After all I was at the forefront of that regard, and my mother the matriarch of the assassins right now. No one was going around killing anyone without her knowing it at the very least. So either someone was doing it without giving permission or someone took justice into their own paws. I had a hard time sympathizing yet, it did explain the sudden call to enemies that Iromar had made towards us. ”Is that why Pine is so angry all the sudden? You think we killed one of yours without seeing her first?” I didn’t need a response, this wolf didn’t seem one to lie like that. I knew Pine to a degree at least. Zelda knew her, liked her had me help her and anyone with Zelda’s stamp told me almost automatically that they were a good wolf. I had been thinking it was odd for some time, but I didn’t know what was going on, and we were so wrapped up with Jaeger’s death we didn’t feel like dealing with her. Perhaps that was our mistake now.

I remain silent though, my rainbow gaze once again set upon Cuirass. He peaked my interest again, I admit it. My tail flicks though impatiently waiting to see what else he had to say, though by telling me that he told me a lot in its own. It explained a lot, and I knew I had to tell this to mother and father so we could quickly figure out what had happened. Try to close the gap and figure all of this out now. Little did I know though that Zelda was over there working my father over as well trying to do the same. I just want to see though, what else he had to offer me, perhaps he would get my trump card out of me after all.
