The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

'Abendrot is just up ahead, my dears! You’ll like it there—not a popular spot for visitors, so I doubt anyone will be hunting you around its borders. Not sure if there are any kalaks living in the pack, but . . . at least you’ll have a warm bed to stay in while you continue your search.'

For a long while, Olya had wondered where exactly the dolt Kirastasia was leading them. She had been concerned it would be into a trap, but they met no ambush, were attacked by no strangers. The kalak's next question in her mind had been what pack she had in mind... not that Olya would have an opinion at all. Olya had no knowledge about this place, about Blossom Forest or the packs that it contained, but still she would like to be able to know where they were going. Perhaps Kirastasia could have given them more information other than the name of the pack - Abendrot. Where had that name come from? What were their morals and rules? Who ruled there? Well... at least for that last question she soon enough had the answer - Siku.

'Why are you here she-wolf?

Olya had not been expecting such a curt reply, especially not from Siku. Though she had been terrified of him, she had never once heard a rude word from him. That is, not until now. Perhaps he was angry that she had left the way that she did - after all, he had cleaned the wound on her head, and she had taken off like a bat out of hell as soon as she was able to. Olya rose her gaze to peer at him for a moment, her brows wrinkled together and her sad sky pools watered briefly before a whine pulled itself out of her lips and she stared at the ground instead, not knowing what to say to him, not knowing what to do. And so she instead leaned slightly toward her mistress, frozen in place, confused, hurt, and terrified. Lilith had asked her who, but Olya could not manage another response. She only cowered slightly as Lilith's hackles rose like a spiked spine and retaliated against Siku on Olya's behalf. Olya squeezed her lids shut and shook her head, not knowing what to say, but this was all wrong. She had never seen her mistress upset, not like this... and Siku after all had taken care of Olya before. If only... If only... If only...what? Kirastasia sounded exasperated as she questioned Olya's relationship with Siku - and Olya could hear the annoyance in her timber. Before the handmaiden could react, her mistress was reacting to Siku and Olya pinned her auds to her cranium, submissive as always.

'Don't you speak to her that way! We come here as your guests! You must be mistaken for whom you're in the presence of. I am Princess Lilith, last of my kind. And this is my most trusted friend and handmaiden, Olya. She deserves as much respect as me here and I expect you to give it to her. Now. How can you help us?'

Olya flinched - they should not be announcing themselves thusly, especially when they had no kalak guards from Faraway to guard the Princess. The other tribes and clans were still looking for Lilith... if they knew she was here... even better without a proper escort... they would come for her in a jiffy. But more than that, after all that Olya had learned so far from both Siku and Camille, they were the outcasts here. There were few kalaks, and even fewer royal families - being royalty would mean nothing or next to nothing to these mudbloods, and to try to flaunt it over them would only get them into trouble.

'Yes, Mister Siku: how can you help them?'

Olya knew that she should say something, that she should describe what Siku was like. That this whole situation was escalating far too quickly. But Olya was not meant to say anything unless she was spoken to, already she had spoken out of turn. But if she did not say anything, perhaps Kirastasia and Mistress would anger Siku... he was an alpha here, the rank that actually meant something in this land... he could attack them or send his hoards after them. Or perhaps he would anger the pair and they would leave and Olya would never be able to say that she was sorry.

"I... he... he helped me already. I cut my head and he cleaned it for me."
