PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

ARGENTO

It had been more than long enough since he was last in the Peak. Much had happened since he had left his childhood home - he had become Boss, for starters - and the telltale guilt over his absence had begun to creep under his skin. Two and a half years... had it really been two and a half years? He had spent over half his life in the Lagoon now.

As he returned to the Peak, welcoming the shade of the thick forests that skirted it and protected him from the sweltering summer sun, he tried to block out the horrible memory of the day he had left. Two and a half years ago, he had found his Mother dead on top of the mountain.

Mercifully, it was not long before his sister found him, and of course - Jetta being Jetta - she cried with joy at seeing him. Gent had to admit, when he met her son and heard the child call him Uncle he almost shed a tear too. They exchanged news, revelling in the wondrous coincidence that they had both risen into leadership, and spoke briefly of Diamant’s continued absence, Adelheid’s return, and their newly-discovered blood ties with several other horses. Jetta told him of how she and the other Peak mares had taken two homeless foals under their wing, and when finally they parted, promising to keep in touch more often, Gent wondered if she knew that he and Oswin had fought several months before. Now that he was aware he and Oswin were related, it could make things a tad more complicated between them.

He had intended on leaving as soon as his visit with Jetta was done, but Gent found himself lingering. He was enjoying the shade, and the air was cleaner in these hills somehow, without the stink of stallions constantly permeating it. It was a refreshing change.

While the heat of the afternoon wore on, Gent retired to a mossy bank beside a stream and reclined upon the soft, springy ground. No doubt at least one of the other Vulcans would soon catch his scent and come seek him out; in fact, he welcomed the idea. He was in a surprisingly fine mood and looked forward to meeting his relatives, or - in the case of Oswin - remeeting them. If she had no idea they were half-siblings, it could even be fun toying with her for a while.
