When he heard someone else approaching, his ears imemdiately flicked toward the female, his head soon following suit as his eyes widened in surprise and curiosity. Another wolf! The world was gracious in giving him so many new friends. His eyes glowed with anticipation, his tail only wagging that much harder as she gave them a smirk and moved closer. When the female suddenly started running though, Triton wasn't expecting that and as she got closer, he didn't know if she planned to jump. Gulping, he started stumbling back, trying to get out of her way but the mushy sand was holding him tightly. He made a yip noise of surprise and fear as she got within a few strides, tripping back into the water and curling himself into a ball to protect himself as she leapt over him in one graceful jump. He still had one eye peeking out from under his paw to see it and he couldn't help but watch her glide over him, his mouth parting in awe as she landed nimbly on the other side. He had lifted his head before he even knew it, much more thrilled about the female now that he could see she had no malicious intent, at least toward him. The water, it seemed, was a different story. She attacked it aggressively and he tilted his head, watching in curiosity. He glanced at the older male in puzzlement, wondering if he could understand what she was up to but then she spoke and Triton turned his head back to her. "Full force?" He questioned timidly. Did she mean that you attack everything or just the water? There was so much for him to learn! She grinned at them and he grinned right back at her, feeling much more comfortable around her now. Then she said to go big or go home and his ears folded back in dismay. "I don't want to go home....but how do I go big? Mom told me only time would make me grow." He watched the female intently. Perhaps she knew a secret or two about growing that he didn't? How interesting! His other buddy had kept relatively quiet throughout the encounter but now Triton turned to see him move closer, giving the girl a small grin himself even as he said the water was biggest and swatted it with his paw. Deciding there must be something important about that gesture, Triton grinned and did the same, swatting at the water with a grunt of effort. Then the other boy bowed and Triton's face lit up with joy. He knew what that bow meant! His parents did it to him when they were willing to join him in his games. The other male had a challenge and Triton's grin only widened at the sound as he barked with confidence. Together, we can conquer anything!" Then he leapt forward, trying to splash both the boy and girl as he laughed and swatted at the water.
