With every thud of his strong paws that hit the ground did it only give the starry-eyed man relief. He could finally get away from the abuse, from the cheating, lying and hurtful things his girlfriend would say and do. He could endure the beatings, the knit pickings at his imperfections. How he wasn't handsome enough and wasn't the type of guy she wanted. He didn't understand how such a sweet and loving vixen at first had turned into this monster . . . And then reality struck him hard across the face one day. He had never lain with her, hoping to first better their relationship before being stuck with children to care for with her. He thought she'd turn her attention and abuse then to the children if they were to have any.

But she did end up pregnant, but how he could not have even guessed at first. His brother, Sol had slept with her and impregnated her in what they claimed to be a one night stand . . . The starry-eyed man was heartbroken, that was a love he spent years on. Since they were teens. In an angry fit, while their parents were barking at eachother and Sol had just confessed, did he finally decide enough was enough. He left, he left home, his lover, his brother, his parents. He didn't care what had happened to them, he just needed out. He needed to find happiness and he knew somewhere out there the stars would lead him and show him the way.

He wandered and wandered to lands he did not know. Earth became marsh quickly as he found himself waltzing in the pale moonlight. He held back angry tears, day after day that whelped up in his ducts. His ears pinned back against his head as starry eyes looked to the sky for answers. "There's only so much my mind can take . . ."He sand softly, his voice was beautiful. He was pure, he was kind. He had a rather . . . Gruff appearance now. He sighed, still walking in his tracks as he picked out different constellations throughout the sky.

He watched a shooting star go by, and quickly rushed to follow it with his eyes as it flew behind trees. That's when a single tear fell from his eye. "I wish I had someone to love, who loved me back . . ." He said softly, before turning his head back to his paws. He began to walk again, turning his head back to glance at the sky as he did. That's when he stumbled over what he believed to be a rock, but a rock wasn't . . . soft. He tumbled over the object, and then hit the ground. When he picked his head up, he realized he was nose to nose with a pitch black woman . . . And by the gods she was beautiful. He felt his breath hold in his lungs as he scrambled to his feet, lowering his head to the ground. "My apologizes, Princess . . . I didn't see you in the darkness. Are you alright?"
