He hadn't really thought it through. No, he had been so sure. They were children! Children! Weren't they supposed to be small and cute? Weren't they supposed to be darling little creatures? But these one's...they looked so normal but they were bears in tiny wolf skins. But he had to be resilient - for Samia if nobody else! And so when their teeth met his flesh, he sucked in his breaht, wide eyed, and bit down on his teeth with a forced laugh. So fun!

But eventually, through all their giggling and swirling, he had gained the upperhand - or so he thought at least. With one at his heel and tail and one wrapped around his front paw like some wicked, sharp snake, he had gotten himself into the prime position: "Yes! Good idea, Snapper -" a fitting name, right? "But to start, we have to make the game fair. So just hold still for one moment -" and then the moment both of them paused (with any luck), he'd sink down immediately and uses his weight to trap them or, more importantly, protect himself. He'd damn well sit on one and cradle the other under his chest like a baby bird if it meant keeping their little teeth out of his precious, tender skin! And that was how Israfel experienced his first day as a mother hen, two chicks tucked beneath him if all things went as planned.

"See! Now it's fair. So, let's see who is sharpest: go find some rocks! We'll see who can break them!" Arguably an awful idea but maybe he could wear them out that way. If they chewed themselves into a more docile state - and he had spoken so earnestly with the broadest grin so they had to be convinced! - he might get more answers. So, with a big ol' uncle grin,
he rose to let them go on their rock hunt. He prayed they went to find them. God, he needed to check the damage they had inflicted!
