♡I was made for loving you♡

even though we may be hopeless hearts
just passing through

There was not anything that had been taught to her to prepare her for someone she cared about leaving her without a single utter of a goodbye. Jaci, the girl named for the moon, had lived in the mountains with her family and the others that called the same mountain home. It was the type of place where everyone knew one another and everyone called each other their family. Jaci had no siblings of her own, her parents having decided to only bare one child (“why have another when we already have the best? they had said to Jaci as she beamed up at them and they would nuzzle her lovingly) Jaci would play with the other foals her age, and to her, they became her brothers and her sisters. Growing up, Jaci knew nothing but family, love, and fun. Of course, she heard stories, from her wild grandmother who had been a fierce warrior, but to Jaci, these were stories. Sorrow didn't exist in her world.

So she tries to not let it exist now.

Baby blues look around her in the some what familiar surroundings of the Commons. This is where she had met Orkaan and this is where she had met the girl named after witches. It was a good place to start new adventures. Paper thin nares flare as they inhale the smells around her. The heaviest of smells being that of salt from the sea. Jaci had grown to love the ocean as she has lived her, relishing in the endlessness of it. As she exhales, she feels the heat of her breath leaving her lungs to puncture the open air as the air billows around her, hitting the chilled air of autumn. A chill runs up her spine, but it is oddly comforting. The chill reminds her of her mountain home, where there had always been a crisp feeling in the air, even in the summer months. If she closes her eyes, she can even picture it.

As the girl named for the moon reopens her eyes of blue sky, lashes fluttering upwards, and that is when she sees him, coming towards her. He is dressed in red, tall (though everyone is tall to little Jaci), and friendly, even though Jaci would perhaps believe a mountain lion to be friendly under the right circumstances. He bobs his head in greeting and she follows suit. A smile touches her lips like brush strokes and she laughs like tinkling bells. “Well good morning to you too,” she says brightly. “I wasn't expecting company,” she admits as her eyes go downwards to her still drenched body. “Perhaps I would have straightened myself up a little more had I known,” she jokes, unashamed of herself, the little moon child. Eyes blink slowly once more, innocent lashes casting her into darkness for a mere moment before reopening once again.

“Im Jaci.”
