Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

It wasn’t often Apophis was driven to hunt but today in the frigid air of fall he rose to the challenge. It wasn’t a task of pleasure as it perhaps was for his other siblings still there was an itch that couldn’t be scratched. A hunger that couldn’t be filled by prey alone, only another predator. Even so, he was a merciful being to those whose lives he took. Most were weak, lonely, he could put them to rest while the struggle to live was natural he was content to treat them as a beloved companion while he snuffed the light from them and their bodies grew still. It wasn’t accepted by most and some called it monstrous but to him, he was peaceful compared to what another ravenous beast would take them.

His large paws didn’t fall heavily despite his weight, he was deliberate in his movements even without finding a target his goal was to make his presences unknown. He would wait for a passer. His large frame nestled up to a tree with gnarled roots to strewn around him. Perhaps he was a more passive hunter but in light of everything he still kept himself fed and for now that was what mattered, keeping himself and sister healthy and strong. He looked towards Diveen almost longing before his eyes settled to scan his surroundings. It was cold, he would without a doubt stumble upon a lone wolf softened by the onslaught the winters ravenous grasp.

As much as the beast would like to, he denied himself an active hunt with the caution of the she-wolf laying eyes upon such a thing. He wasn't inclined to edge her away, she had even seemed to be drawn to his nature but things were often viewed differently when seen in person. No one knew the true monsters that lurked and he knows of none as rumored before his time. He gnashed his teeth as he thought more on the matter focusing more eagerly on the task at hand. Should he let the opportunity slip by he would have to put in more effort than absolutely necessary while taking another into his own.
