I did not like being in Iromar.
Apparently it had once been held by my grandmother. Mother had told us the story of our history and lineage. It seemed that my parents were born from leaders. Iblis, Rhae, Tesseract, Aithne, Praetor. The names piled up until it was hard to keep them straight sometimes. Things had changed so drastically that it made me angry at times. I was typically level headed and sometimes full of mischief, apparently a gift from my mother, but each time I looked at the new den we slept in, I grew morose.
Pine's pups were my friends and I was comforted to play with them but I missed Prometheus. Often I was at his den lounging about since it wasn't too far down from my parents, but since we had left Asteraia I felt... alone. Mother knew when I glared at her, but I kept my mouth shut because I could see something was wrong. She looked as if a light within her had dimmed. Father had taken Idrisa and left. Aster said it was a journey of learning, but the odd note in her voice made my ears flatten. Where had he gone, truly? Why would he leave us to LEARN?
The first day that the snows melted enough in Iromar to traverse, I took off. I KNEW my mother would grow angry. She probably would be afraid for me, but I had assured my siblings that I was the biggest of them and could take care of myself. I would be back, I promised, but I had to go see Prometheus. Besides, once mom figured out I was with him and Eclipse she wouldn't be mad at me. She trusted Prometheus' mother implicitly. The travel to Asteraia took FOREVER. My legs were growing but I was stout and thickly built, much like Aithne. I was built for stamina, not too much speed, and the snow slowed me down often, so by the time I arrived the shadows were lengthening.
Only, I didn't even get the chance to enter my home (Iromar was NOT my home!), because I heard a voice to the deep left of me, my ear cocking to the side before being followed by my head. It was Prometheus! I knew because he said his name, and with a grin of triumph, I bounded toward it, breaking from the trees to spy him tilting up a rock to stare at... that male. I came to a sudden halt, my fur standing on end, a suspicious look in my emerald eyes, the red rings seeming to shine brighter as I glare at Elohim. "I know you. You creep around here all the time and I saw Archana with you." Something about him was off. Strange. Apparently, my bluntness came from my mother too.
