I was...surprised, I think, to find Adonai so fast to begin her investigating. She was not her mother, that much was certain, for Ehiyeh had seldom been a woman of utter urgency. I had watched her leave and so, I had checked the border after several hours, returning every so often to investigate whether she had returned or not. I know she left quickly but to return so fast too? There is a mystery to her, my granddaughter. She seems to feel the same attraction to the unknown that I often find myself cultivating.
As I seek her out, following her path, I cannot help but think of the complexities that her very existence propose. She was, after all, only saved by her mother's love and even now, I find it difficult to believe that I no longer view her with the same anger that existed only some year or two ago. There is little of the Asteraian cretin in her, at least, and she cultivates the same desire to know as many others here. She is more Glorall than many others, more her mother than father...more in general, I think. Today proves it. I doubt even other packs have such a wolf, have one so eager to investigate and engage with the change around them.
She is just as quick to hear me approach and I give her a testing grin of sorts when she turns towards me; a sort of...challenge if you might. I will be sure to conceal my footsteps better next time lest she begin to miscalculate her own. In any case, I am already curious: she comes with news and if her demeanor is to be taken seriously, then such news must be quite the curiosity. "Tell me two truths and a lie to begin with," I offer as I move to be beside her, pivoting slightly and taking a seat as I motion for her to join me if she so desires; I want our Arbiter to be intelligent, after all, and with enough cunning to work beneath the skin if they must.
