News 08.08.2021
Change was long overdue in Spirane. Now that I have learned who is still an active presence within the pack, the ranks have been updated. As I once took time away from the pack, so too now shall Kalseru. Know that she is still second in command of the pack, as is reflected in her rank. Once you are familiar with the new ranking system, if you would like to change positions or move up in the ranks you need only ask. Let this be a time of new life in Spirane, and a promise of great things to come!

When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.

Sleekwing
let nothing come between this and me

Sleekwing had to admit that his son's clearly apparent happiness to see him and continued adoration from youth into adulthood made his heart tighten with joy. His elder son, Los, was surely not a man who expressed his feelings openly, and his distance from Alcmene and Mana meant little contact or attention from them either. It was a thing he, as a parent, would never admit, but for his son to show such love for him practically made his heart burst. Of course, Sleekwing was significantly better at keeping such emotions under wraps than Israfel, who continued to practically wriggle before him. It only made the heather painted male smile more broadly.

Not wanting to make his son feel guilty for too long, he admitted to having traveled to the edges of Moladion in search of Israfel's sister. The surprise on his face and the quick offer to go and retrieve her made Sleekwing laugh out loud. "I am sure she will make herself known to both of us when she does return. If it was Kutcha that I saw, she is likely still a couple of day's journey away." With that matter settled, the older male shifted himself slightly and then lowered his hindquarters to relax into a sitting position, curious about what might have brought Israfel back to the mountains for a visit.

Israfel's reaction to his inquiry about visits to Glorall had Sleekwing even more interested than he'd been already. He listened steadfastly as is son explained why he hadn't sought out his sister Alcmene just yet, and it seemed that Sleekwing's steady gaze upon his son was enough to crack through the exterior shield of whatever he was skirting around telling his father. A grin quirked at the edges of his lips that slowly grew into a broad smile. So Israfel had found himself a girl! The way he spoke about this Samia warmed his old soul, and he off handedly wondered where Malina may have roamed to these days. She had gone her own way once more when Israfel and Moonfeather had become independent of their parents.

About to impart his very limited knowledge in the department of relationships, Sleekwing found himself caught off guard at Israfel's next statement. Samia's brother was Arthfael, making Samia none other than a daughter of Natu. Now it was the father's turn to look away in a vain attempt to hide his feelings. Trying to cover up his loss for words, he coughed, then looked back to Israfel with a smile and his assured appearance restored. "She sounds like a lovely girl, you'll have to introduce me sometime," he said with a smile. "I - I knew her mother, what seems like such a long time ago now. Natu was your aunt Daenerys' first Spider, before Viora. They were friends, Daenerys and Natu, until Natu took up with Fenrir," the name tasted of an old bitterness he'd never truly acknowledged, "and moved to Asteraia, and beyond there I am not sure."

"She was a special woman, Natu; a close friend of mine as well, though after she left here we lost touch." But he had nothing to say about Samia's father - Fenrir. He would not speak ill of the dead, but it had pained him so to see the turmoil Natu had gone through in times when Fenrir had gone missing, leaving her to raise their children on her own. Times when Sleekwing's hopes had risen that she would come home to Spirane, only to have the black wolf show up just as she'd seemed to have made up her mind and sweep her away again. It had only driven a wedge further between Sleekwing and Natu. And now she was gone.

Doing his best to mask the underlying feelings he had held for Natu - for it would surely make Israfel feel a bit awkward to know his father had harbored affection for the mother of his own imprint - he smiled. "If Samia is anything like her mother, you are a lucky man indeed. Do not let her slip through your paws, Israfel - special women are a rarity." It was the best advice the man, who had never had a mate of his own - could offer his son.
