Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

His arrival to Moladin was nothing of note or merit, or any other such award type possibility. It was just another day that a wolf from outside these lands found their way here. Which was quite a shame really. Draygo fancied himself a rather handsome devil, with an emphasis on the devil. The rusty red male barely into his adulthood held a rather dashing grin upon his maw. However, upon closer inspection, the bleached white that appeared to be part of his head and face was actually the skull of his first rather large kill. A cougar that had been plaguing him just after his second birthday.

Truthfully, it was a bit of luck that Draygo had succeeded, not fully grown at the time, but a perfect mis-step had allowed him the kill, and so he reveled in it, for he did kill the beast with his own jaws after all. His mahogany paws carried him along, with perhaps an air of arrogance, but he was still alert. His pale green eyes scanned the area as he moved along the riverside. A water source, he knew, was important, for water meant food. A behemoth in his own right, thick in the chest and powerful. The general air about him was 'I will crush you', if he was so tempted.

It did not take long for him to spy a doe and her fawn drinking from the river. He crouched low, not unlike the feline whose skull he wore as a crown, easing forward. There was no indicator of a herd nearby. A solitary mother and her child. This would be fun. A twisted grin crept across his maw as he inched forward. Draygo, once he felt he was close enough, bolted forward, a quick snap at the doe's legs to cause her to bolt. Her fawn was not so intelligent. The man was quick to whirl on the small creature, grabbing it by the neck and forcing it to the ground.

"Won't you cry for me?" he whispered in the fawn's ear as he dropped his entire weight on it. "Shame no one will hear you..." And with that, he clamped his jaws onto the nearest ear and ripped it off. Let the torment begin.
